You guys are all missing the obvious. There’s a reason the Cowboys wanted a Cooks over a Hopkins or OBJ. MM has stated that he’s going to run a more west coast type offense. There’s a lot of short passes in that offense and Cooks fits the mold of a great West Coast WR.

We fill holes before the draft so we can be flexible in the draft. This signing doesn’t preclude our drafting a difference making WR if one drops in our lap.

I disagree. Cook has put up the numbers over his career, he still has very good speed to be a threat on deep balls in turn that opens up space for Lamb. Stat wise Cooks numbers are as good as Cooper, very little difference between the 2. I don't think this move guarantees anything not did Cooper guarantee anything? Cook is a very talented player and has the numbers to back it up.
Yeah, he's a 5'10 deep ball threat.:lmao::facepalm:

I agree with you. But, you are not getting Amari Cooper back. It was a Jerry Dumbo GM Jones trade and the Cowboys are paying for it like not drafting Randy Moss.

But, here is why Brandin Cooks keeps getting contracts and going to different teams...

Even if he does not still run a 4.3 40yd time, elite short shuttle, and 3 cone drill time, he is a superior athlete at the WR position and can beat single and most double team coverage. I still believe if he did not get a concussion (something you have to worry about with Cooks) in the Super Bowl, the Patriots would have beat the Eagles.

He is a vet, a professional (like the move The Professional), and unlike OBJ, he has 2 healthy knees.

I am not sure why people keep acting like OBJ is this upper tier, elite WR still. Or that we should question Cooks on his 5th team in 9 years but somehow OBJ bouncing around like a fool isn't equally perplexing/questionable.
For the first time on this board I have seen a comment with nearly 100 likes.

I disagree! DHop is very much like CeeDee & LBJ is a cancer we don’t need & neither has the speed we desperately need for some separation out of our WR’s. I guess time will tell!

This thread is Whac-A-Mole

A game where everyone wins pounding this senseless little rodent. But the little rodent keeps popping up afresh. Game does get boring. Moles aren't thoughtful and offer little real game.

I Disagree you can’t determine your gut feeling and start to mix it with what you dont know .. What is true facts is that brandon cooks is dominating good reciever that has put up 6 straight 1,000 yard seasons! NOW despite him being traded as he has been his only 28 and being die cowboys fans can say no cooks doesnt automatically win us the superbowl but I guarantee u that he definitely can get us to the championship game cus we are that close! Against the 49ers after pollard went down who was the other playmaker other then CD?? Nobody..Cooks is exactly the weapon we’ve been needing..

How many times has this been brought up now.
It actually solves a big problem, he brings speed at WR that can actually stretch the field, and can be a home run threat type player.

Many players go to 3 to 6 teams throughout their careers anymore. This is not an issue.
Rumblings are out there that he is a locker room cancer

I'd take Cooks over OBJ.
Hilton too.

People need to look at OBJ's numbers over the last few years. And realize that a WR coming off another knee injury and a year off is unlikely to improve his numbers.

You do realize that the majority of burners who have both pure speed and quickness...
are shorter.

You do realize that, don't you!?

Based on your posting history I suppose I shouldn't assume anything with you.
Well, if you want to make this personal, I can do that too. You might use Jimmy's pic on here but that doesn't make you any kind of authority or expert. Cooks is a journeyman 29 year old WR whose stat trajectory is on a downward spiral. He is not a #1. He's a #2 at best or slot wr. This isn't rocket science. He will give us the same thing TY Hilton gave us at 5x the price.

Rumblings in your belly? Pepto might work.

But let's go deeper: deceitful posting is bad for the intestinal tract. Stop. It. You got no dirt on Cooks and you know it.

"Cooks...He's been what one Texans source termed "a good soldier'' in offering leadership through the team's rebuild, and is viewed as a locker room leader"

https://www.si.com/nfl/cowboys/news...raft-houston-texans-obj-deandre-hopkins-rumor

He was a team captain w/Texans.

I really don't like bed bugs. Blood suckers. If you've got a real issue or link on Brandin Cook's integrity..you spell it out and provide a link. Otherwise I'll suggest openly you are one of those little bed bugs.

Here from Houston Chronicle:

"In November, first-year general manager Nick Caserio defined the culture shift of the Texans as finding “good players who are good people that care about winning, that put the team first” and “are committed to work through purposeful action.”

“I would put Brandin Cooks at the top of the list,” Caserio said"
