Teams unload players for various reasons. NO had WR when Cook was there and as they come up for FA no team will pay all. In the end however Cooks has continued to produce at a high level.I"m a Brandin Cooks fan... but 4 teams have unloaded him. Obviously, they see or know something about him.
They traded him for high picksI"m a Brandin Cooks fan... but 4 teams have unloaded him. Obviously, they see or know something about him.
Let's be fair, he was twice traded to a team that subsequently got to the SB....he was traded up to a contender.I"m a Brandin Cooks fan... but 4 teams have unloaded him. Obviously, they see or know something about him.
This is absolutely my hope. Lamb took a good step this year. I'm excited to see if he levels up again. If he does, this post is all for not.Lamb is the definition of a game wrecker. We need guys who can get open and have good hands. Speed is nice and Cooks isn’t slow. The only things we really lack at WR is a big physical guy
Why? What is your conclusion as to why he keeps being dumped? Hair out of place?Ridiculous conclusion
Shhhhh... don't tell people that. lolHe will be 30 in early September when the season starts.
Like everyone else, I'm going to disagree with pretty much this entire post. When Brandin Cooks joins the Dallas Cowboys, he will join his 5th team in his 9-year career.
Saints, Pats, Rams, Texans, and now the Cowboys. A lot of folks on here are caught up by a name they recognize and a player some wanted during the season, last year. And I'll be the first to admit that Brandin Cooks is a NICE player, he isn't what this team needs.
This team needs an offensive weapon. A "game wrecker" of sorts. Not another nice WR that will fight for number 2 touches in our offense.
It points to the obvious blind spot in the front office that most of here can see but some are blinded too as well.
IMO settling for anything short of DHop or OBJ is just that. Settling.
Lol your going hard. Look I'm perfectly find with being wrong and us succeeding this year. I want to win and its been way too long since we have. But if Wr is an issue again and we're going through another year of asking why we gave up Cooper for a fifth and paid a hurt Gallup I wouldn't be surprised. I'll be here all season. Hope you are too. Cheers.Dude. Give up your football card.
Was.OBJ has proven, that when healthy (which he is), he is a top-tier WR in this league. Plan and simple.
I'm not obsessed with "names" if i were, they wouldn't be OBJ and DHop. They are elite WRs who are "available".
Only a 1 year rental . . . Fingers crossedYou all know that Brandin Cooks has 5 documented concussions, right? It's a huge part of why the Rams moved on from him, right?
"RATE OF RECURRENCE:
Multiple medical journals have published studies that prove that once a player sustains a concussion, their risk of getting another concussion increases. A study by Guskiewicez et al. showed that among 4,251 college football players, those who suffered 3 or more concussions were 3 times more likely to sustain another concussion than those without any history of that injury [2]. This certainly applies to Cooks, who to this date has five documented concussions in the NFL. Additionally, another study focusing on concussions in high school athletes found that “athletes sustaining recurrent concussions had longer symptom resolution times, were kept out of play longer, and reported loss of consciousness more frequently than athletes sustaining new concussions” [3]."
You stated the Noah Brown is equal to Cooks. C'moooooooooooooooooooooooon.Lol your going hard. Look I'm perfectly find with being wrong and us succeeding this year. There's also information that we looked into trading for Jeudy. We know that they have talked to OBJ as well. There has to be two willing parties to make a move like this, and sometimes I think we forget that. Maybe we tried to bring in OBJ but he wanted too much. Maybe we inquired about a trade for Hopkins, but they wanted too much. It isn't a case where Dallas can just go get whatever players it wants. It appears from all the noise that the Cowboys understood that they needed to get a quality receiver and this is the one they were able to get.As fans, we get to caught up with a named player and our opinion is the best fit. Guess what, it ain't about us, it is only about what the coaches and especially McCarthy wants for their offensive. Look at McCarthy history and we see he has always had a burner WR, someone to go up over the top. Is Hopkins that guy? Nope. Is OBJ that guy after what 3 knee surgeries? Nope. Heck, I'm a fan of Jerry Jeudy and he doesn't fit that build.
You know who fits that bill, Brandon Cooks! Not my 1st choice but really we all should of seen that coming since we tried to trade for him last season. Houston wanted supposedly a 1st which was never going to happen. Fast forward, Houston has a new coaching staff, Cooks wanted out of a rebuild, suddenly the price for him got way lower and in a hurry.
Sure Cooks will compete with Gallup for 2nd most catches after Lamb. It does give Dallas a much better WR corp going into 2023. And it gives a true homerun threat. We will be a more run based team if McCarthy holds true to his past when he called plays so sending a guy like Cooks on the fly pattern takes normally a CB and a S over top in coverage. That means quite a bit to the Run/Pass option with fewer defensive guys to block on run plays.
Cooks is the right guy for McCarthy's offensive scheme. Having Lamb, Gallup, Cooks, Turpin, Fehoko, and improved Tolbert and possibly Houston makes for a far better solution on offensive especially if Ferguson and Hendershot continue to improve at TE.
We may or may not like the trade but Jerry made a good deal and McCarthy got the burner he wants.
Cooks is a much better option than OBJ. By a mile. Beckham wants a contract. He doesn't want to play football. That's been clear for years. When Brandin Cooks joins the Dallas Cowboys, he will join his 5th team in his 9-year career.

LOL... "Do [my] homework". LOLEntitled to your opinion but, the guy has 6 years of service with over 1000 yards per season. When he was traded, it was always for a 1st round pick except for us who got the big steal.
Do your homework. OBJ is a money hungry cancer and Hop is drugged up.
At this point in their careers, Cooks is definitely better than OBJ. More sane also.Biggest clown on this board. You saying this makes me even more sure that OBJ is light years better than Cooks.
OBJ would rather make a big splash play than win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Cooks is a much better option than OBJ. By a mile. Beckham wants a contract. He doesn't want to play football. That's been clear for years.
in 2019 he has not had a concussion since. Not sure it is a 1 year rental since he has 2 remaining years on his deal before he becomes a FA.Only a 1 year rental . . . Fingers crossed
But injuries happen and you can not Make business decisions based in a possible injury in the NFL
