The Brandin Cooks trade doesn't solve the problem. It is the problem!

I’m not too sure Cooks is that much better than Noah Brown. Marginally yes, but not some big upgrade that is going to take us to the next level. Happy with the trade details but I’m struggling to see the real difference in the production. I think that’s why a lot of people wanted obj or hopkins. When ceedee lamb struggles or is quiet in a random game can Cooks take over and get us the production we need to win that tough game? I really don’t see it happening. Love to be wrong though.
How can you tell me you are clueless about Cooks without telling me you are clueless about Cooks

cooks>>>>obj. How can you even call obj a game wrecker when he hasn’t played in 2 years? We have no idea what he is. Ceedee established himself as a 1 last year and while I’d have rather we gotten Hopkins, cooks is a good player who can stretch the field and open things up with his speed.

Good move by the front office and the cowboys will be better because of it
The last time I saw OBJ on a football field, he was the BEST PLAYER ON IT.

and that was in the Super Bowl with elite talent all around him.

OBJ is a gamble tbh. I did want Hopkins though, I would have traded a 3rd maybe even a 2nd.

No one is exactly sure what they will be getting with Hopkins . . . He may have hit The wall like Julio Jones, No one knows for sure

But we all can see that Cooks still has His Wheels. Cooks is a better fit for this team then Hopkins. He plays on the Outside and will Stretch the Field which is a great Compliment to Lamb and Gallup.

He is not just a "Speed" guy He is a Proven Route Runner and Producer . . . Based on experience, production and even Compensation this is a great deal.
I wouldn't say better fit, but a very good fit.

Getting Cooks was an absolute steal, especially as they're paying 6 mil making his salary only 13 mil/season.

Cooks is a high quality #2 WR +.

Fanbase is never happy. People are screaming for a speedy receiver, get one and it's not enough. Look at what Cooks was traded for outside of the Cowboys trade, 1st and 2nd rd picks, he is a very valuable receiver.
I"m a Brandin Cooks fan... but 4 teams have unloaded him. Obviously, they see or know something about him.

OBJ is a locker room wrecker. He got lucky with the Rams and signed in November of 2021. He was a compliment piece. Different story of in training camp and locker room from Day 1 - maybe gets throw off many planes.
hCookshe had His Pants down around His Ankles and was acting like He was sleeping .

The Flight Attendants felt uncomfortable and were being ignored so they called Marshals

Thats when Beckham shows disgust to his fellow man on the flight as if they did something to him .

Forcing everyone to exit whole He throws a "Jezebel" inspired Fit

And people want that over a Professional who shows up and produces with His Mouth Shut

A True Leader that will compliment the WR class

People are out of their "Meta Minds"

I am not sure why people keep acting like OBJ is this upper tier, elite WR still. Or that we should question Cooks on his 5th team in 9 years but somehow OBJ bouncing around like a fool isn't equally perplexing/questionable.
It's either grass is greener syndrome or just anything Dallas does is wrong.

How many times has this been brought up now.
It actually solves a big problem, he brings speed at WR that can actually stretch the field, and can be a home run threat type player.

Many players go to 3 to 6 teams throughout their careers anymore. This is not an issue.
He and Eric Dickerson are the ONLY players in the HISTORY of the NFL to be traded 4 times.

When Brandin Cooks joins the Dallas Cowboys, he will join his 5th team in his 9-year career.

Saints, Pats, Rams, Texans, and now the Cowboys. A lot of folks on here are caught up by a name they recognize and a player some wanted during the season, last year. And I'll be the first to admit that Brandin Cooks is a NICE player, he isn't what this team needs.

This team needs an offensive weapon. A "game wrecker" of sorts. Not another nice WR that will fight for number 2 touches in our offense.

It points to the obvious blind spot in the front office that most of here can see but some are blinded too as well.

IMO settling for anything short of DHop or OBJ is just that. Settling.
Sorry, Justin Jefferson and Tyreek Hill weren’t available.

I recognize his production in yards but I am more focused on his production in the moments that matter. We've had two years of 49ers let downs. Now a lot of that can be attributed to the QB but the WRs hold some blame as well. Do you really believe that Cooks is the guy to elevate us in those moments? I don’t *shrugs* which means how much do we really improve in this trade? I’m pleased with the draft capital we gave up though.
The 49ers game was a compounded issue where drops and Dak's diminishing confidence went hand in hand. It doesn't take one of the best Defenses in the game to see that if you double team CeeDee you can stop our progress (especially with no run game).
Cooks will get a lot of single coverage as a result of Mr Lamb.

I've been wondering about that myself. Best conclusion I can come up with is that he's being paid to much for a #2 WR. Since we get him for #2 WR pay(13 mil/per), maybe it'll work out fine?

BTW, he was voted team MVP in 21, so it appears his teammates like him.

wow..... he has gone to team after team and produced.......on a team with our weapons, he could be a big time guy. IN any event, we have a big time guy already in cee dee lamb. How many teams have 2 big time guys? Bengals, who else?
Plus this is the 1st time he will be playing next to someone with Lamb's skill set . . . with the Rams all 3 wrs were undersized clones.

He compliments this team and this team compliments him

As fans, we get to caught up with a named player and our opinion is the best fit. Guess what, it ain't about us, it is only about what the coaches and especially McCarthy wants for their offensive. Look at McCarthy history and we see he has always had a burner WR, someone to go up over the top. Is Hopkins that guy? Nope. Is OBJ that guy after what 3 knee surgeries? Nope. Heck, I'm a fan of Jerry Jeudy and he doesn't fit that build.

You know who fits that bill, Brandon Cooks! Not my 1st choice but really we all should of seen that coming since we tried to trade for him last season. Houston wanted supposedly a 1st which was never going to happen. Fast forward, Houston has a new coaching staff, Cooks wanted out of a rebuild, suddenly the price for him got way lower and in a hurry.

Sure Cooks will compete with Gallup for 2nd most catches after Lamb. It does give Dallas a much better WR corp going into 2023. And it gives a true homerun threat. We will be a more run based team if McCarthy holds true to his past when he called plays so sending a guy like Cooks on the fly pattern takes normally a CB and a S over top in coverage. That means quite a bit to the Run/Pass option with fewer defensive guys to block on run plays.

Cooks is the right guy for McCarthy's offensive scheme. Having Lamb, Gallup, Cooks, Turpin, Fehoko, and improved Tolbert and possibly Houston makes for a far better solution on offensive especially if Ferguson and Hendershot continue to improve at TE.

We may or may not like the trade but Jerry made a good deal and McCarthy got the burner he wants.

Gees let's see...a guy with 2 good knees, has had 6 1000 yard seasons, and is second in catches over 25 yards and only behind tyreek hill. Or 2 guys who miss games every year?
You all know that Brandin Cooks has 5 documented concussions, right? It's a huge part of why the Rams moved on from him, right?

"RATE OF RECURRENCE:

Multiple medical journals have published studies that prove that once a player sustains a concussion, their risk of getting another concussion increases. A study by Guskiewicez et al. showed that among 4,251 college football players, those who suffered 3 or more concussions were 3 times more likely to sustain another concussion than those without any history of that injury [2]. This certainly applies to Cooks, who to this date has five documented concussions in the NFL. Additionally, another study focusing on concussions in high school athletes found that “athletes sustaining recurrent concussions had longer symptom resolution times, were kept out of play longer, and reported loss of consciousness more frequently than athletes sustaining new concussions” [3]."

Will yall complainers just stop. Cooks is what this team needs a down the field playmaker, Hopkins is NOT that. He is an older Lamb. ObJ is always HURT. Cooks is younger, healthier and he is consistent and he PRODUCES. Gallup will be better this year and Cooks is a respected threat. So stop. Because if they signed obj and he hurt himself again you and the other haters would complain that they signed him!

man, you will dig for all you can to justify why we should NOT sign a player, yet overlook glaring weaknesses in those you "approve of" to justify your emotional needs.

quite the silly approach and does nothing to prove your point.
