The Buehler Effect (through Week 8)

What routine kicks is he missing? He has 3 misses in 2009. All of them are from 40 to 49 yards.

He has only missed on 10 FGs in 2 and a half seasons and 7 of those 10 are from 40 yards or further. That's really good.

I feel like with the game on the line, Folk is going to hit it. I really don't want to go back to the days where I dread situations like that. The days of Billy Cundiff and Jose Cortez.

Speaking of I See Dead People, he was cut by the Browns yesterday.

Even if it meant we could get another 4th round pick? :laugh2:

Wouldn't surprise me if they worked with Beuhler in the off-season and dangled Folk as trade bait.

Not saying they will, but it wouldn't surprise me. Especially if Folk keeps missing (relatively) routine kicks.
Folk has 3 misses and at least one is the holders fault.

We wasted a draft pick and a roster spot on a second kicker! :D

Smartest mistake we ever made.

I understand why they did it, I was just flummoxed that we drafted another Kicker. Both of ours have proven worth to the team. I just wish we only needed one of them.

That's what I wish too,,,, if you're going to draft a kicker you should draft one that does both exceedingly well.

It almost seems like we bait the returner to bring it out sometimes. He angles the very high kick near the sideline just inside the endzone. The guy thinks I am only a yard or two inside the endzone and brings it out.

By the way, Watkins he playing great on special teams this year. He is always around the ballcarrier it seems.

Folk's a top 5 kicker, and Buehler is the best kickoff specialist in the NFL. We're pretty fortunate to have both.

set the record straight:

Buehler is ranked #4
Folk is ranked #9

There's at least half a dozen kickers that are comparable in BOTH categories, I'm just saying if you're gonna draft a kicker, draft one that does both!
That said, I'm happy that the kickoffs and field goals are much improved...

What are the stats you used to determine their rankings?

#4? I'd like to see where that comes from.

I agree, there should be about 4-5 of those guys available every year, why haven't we gotten one yet?

Buehler will be the future FG&KO kicker for the cowboys! Buehler's kicks always go the right, near the right numbers and the right pylon. Ola Kimrin's record is in jeopardy. We can trade Folk for Bill Belichick or Troy Polamalu.

Please disregard my signature, while reading my post.

I still get a kick out of seeing him on the punt return unit.

I do too, but hell, i worry about him getting hurt...if thats possible. :)

I actually think those are the best kickoffs, 2-3 yards back and the returner has to take a step back and has all his weight back then decides to bring it out. The coverage is usually around the 15 when they meet.
