For perspective...

Folk had exactly 0 touchbacks last season.

Yes Ken that is true. However, I really hate to torch Folk on that. He was told to directional kick most times, because the coverage units were so horrid. That led to many kicks out of bounds.

It wasn't all his fault.

What routine kicks is he missing? He has 3 misses in 2009. All of them are from 40 to 49 yards.

He has only missed on 10 FGs in 2 and a half seasons and 7 of those 10 are from 40 yards or further. That's really good.

Hos, there you go again, using facts instead of feelings. It must grow frustrating after a while.

It wasn't his fault he was incapable of kicking it into the end zone? How so? If you will notice, this year we still directionally kick it. The difference is it is 15 yards deeper.

Like hell they aren't official stats or rankings, they're straight off the NFL.com site under the heading "NFL Rankings",,, no doubt there are inherently different angles and groupings with stats, but don't tell me those are not official. it's all in how you choose to combine the stats,,,

Tackles are also on the nfl.com/stats and are not an officially tracked stat...

Teams break down thier own tackles independently and count them that way.

that's a pretty lame retort considering the rest of the list have 30-40 kicks

feel free to argue with the official NFL rankings if you want, I didn't make them,,,

Dude, he had one kick and it looks like it was returned for a TD... You put the list up, now your calling him lame for questioning its validity?

No need to argue over a listing based on one single statistic, which as Adam pointed out is not truly official or correct. You have to consider more than just that one stat to get a true gauge of the kickers and the kick off coverage teams. Dallas is right up there at #1 or #2 when you take all things into consideration. They may use two kickers to get there, but they got there. That is what is important.

I trust Folk. I don't really trust McBriar holding, but Folk is money. It is a little strange they his kick offs don't go that far because he can boot it when hitting field goals. Some of his field goals this season look like they would be good from 60 to 65 yards away.

I know Mason Crosby was considered by some to be the better kicker and the one that Dallas passed on in favor of Folk. He is far down on the list of top kickers as far as kick off distance and middle of the pack for touch backs. He also has missed 4 FGs this season. He is still a very good kicker, but right now Dallas is doing better with their duo than GB is with their one.

Speaking of Lechler...I wish we had that guy. He is a bad man. All-time leader for punt average in college and the NFL...and he did kick-offs, long field goals, holder, and was a backup QB in college.

We would easily have the best set of kickers in the league. We would absolutely destroy teams with field position. It's a shame he is stuck out there on that black hole of a team.
