You guys really haven't watched much of Wentz, have you? Shall I post links to each of his games here so you can watch?
I have watched him play many games and it was the same thing as today. Has he thrown past 5 yards....yes but to act like he doesn't dink and dunk shows your love fest for Wentz more then during

Since Wentz starting forcing the ball with deep pass inaccuracy, the Eagles have reigned him in with the dink and dunk offense and cliché of "taking what the defense is giving us"!

Check down Charlie with a few intermediate passes are the new strategy to mitigate his turnovers!

Obviously, the plan was to use Sproles and the short passing game as an offensive strategy.

Sound familiar?

Early on Philly had success with Wentz throwing short. But the longer you stick with a one dimensional passing attack like that, the easier it is for good defenses to shut that down.

That's why the Eagles started 3-0 but then went 1-3 over their last 4 games. Teams have figured out the Philly coaches aren't letting Wentz throw many mid-to-deep passes. It's all short stuff, and so they can scheme to defend it.

Marinelli had our guys ready tonight to shut down a lot of these dump off plays. Now, this limited offense, Philly still has SOME success with it. We almost DID lose this game, you know. The Eagles still got 23 points on the board. They can still beat a lot of teams in this league even running this short passing game plan.

He has the accuracy and arm strength to throw it deep when he gets the chance. They just don't do it all that often. Plus, we weren't going to let them do that anyway. We're a good tackling team and we were fine letting them complete short passes and just tackling them quickly.

To me it seemed the Sproling ball was their entire offense. Whether short throws to him or misdirection hand offs. He was gashing us at times. Wentz was an afterthought, he wasn't scaring me.

That's what would've made a loss such a disappointment. The offense we faced last night was the weakest we've seen all season, save for SF led by Gabbert. We were getting feinted and jabbed all night by a lightweight offensive outfit.

Sproles is legit. I think he's what our coaches keep convincing themselves Dunbar can be. But he's a different animal. IMO he's pretty much all they have, their OL really only succeeds on misdirection (with Sproles), their QB can't seem to see past the linebackers - or he doesn't want to look there - and their WRs pretty much suck. Does Green-Beckham actually ever catch anything? He's big and fast, but damn he sucks.

He's also TRASH at the 2minute drill. Takes way too slow to get plays run. They got lucky at the end of the half that they even got points. And of course he still hasn't led a gw drive/come from behind win. I'm fine with Dakota

If the choice is between Dak + keeping draft picks and Wentz + giving those picks away, it's a no brainer. Maybe the Eagles could draft a WR or two if they didn't give the house for Wentz.

I'm taking Dak 1 for 1 at this point. I did want Wentz over all the top qbs but Dak is dat dude.

I couldn't be sure without seeing Wentz with this offense. If they were switched last night do you think the Eagles would have won? I can't say that.

We won...we deserve the spoils, but Wentz is a beast. Accurate with zip that doesn't allow defenders to make a play on those short passes. He had a number of key drops, and even his deep shots were pretty accurate. He has no wr threats. That guy is going to be special when they put some weapons around him.

He and Dak are going to go toe to toe for many years.

With the same gameplan? Prob not. According to Wentz fans Dak was the dink and dunk king so why couldn't he do what Wentz did?

I'm not sure Wentz can do what Dak does. Even without Dez and Tyron, Dak was throwing downfield.

Anyone can do that.

Dak looks like he's running Air Coryel compared to Wentz.

Other than not seeing Wentz throw the ball downfield, which could be him or the OC (or the blocking), my biggest issue with Wentz is that he's taking unnecessary hits. That's going to be an issue long term IMO.

But he really has no WRs at all, the guys he's throwing to absolutely suck. Maybe that's why he doesn't throw downfield, maybe he knows they aren't going to catch it anyway.

He looks like he's in command out there, he looks to throw a nice pass, but ultimately I'd take this team with Dak rather than that team with Wentz. That's really all that matters IMO.

I fully expect Wentz to be an excellent QB but the media love fest over a performance were he dinked and dunked against a bend-don't-break defense is ridiculous. When Dallas finally started challenging the short stuff they shut that thing down. Under the pressure of a playoff quality defense Dak looked like the rookie that he is, but I doubt Wentz would have looked much better facing the same pressure.
