no trade clause to begin
The no-trade clause just means Dak and France have complete control. If France felt the Raiders (or any other team) was ready to commit a large deal to Dak, they would just be granted permission to work out a deal and facilitate the trade and extension.

Not saying it will happen, just saying that's why they asked for and received the no-trade clause. Absolute domination of Cap Boy.

He doesn’t get a say.

Jerry can always cut Dak. Dak Would lose his 2024 base. $29Million.

Anyway, it’s the same cap hit as a trade.

We gain draft picks in the trade though.

But we will take the cap room from the cut or the trade.
He absolutely has a say. He says no.

You think they negotiated for a no trade clause for no reason???

Then Jerry can cut Dak.

Designate the transaction as a Post June 1 cut.

We don’t have to pay his $29 million Base salary for 2024.

We save mega millions in cap.

Or take the trade.

It would also mean Dak would count $11M more against the 2024 cap then he already does. That would be incredibly dumb.

June 1 cut? Frees up money after June 1st when majority of quality players already have a home and pushes a ton of dead money to 2025.

Dak would sign somewhere quickly, all while already banking Jones's bonus money, including another $$m he just got for restructuring. The Cowboys would not receive a compensatory pick for him in 2025.

A trade solves many problems for Dallas.

The draft picks gained would almost equal the HWalker trade.
Don't you get tired of yapping "what ifs"? Your "what ifs" are not going to happen. There is no way Dak will ever allow himself to be traded, especially to pleasure his haters. Some people need to stop living in Disneyland.

Exactly. But some people are being ridiculous because they can't control their hate.

Then He should do it.

Why would Dak want to go to a team with no draft picks. That is almost as bad is being with GM Jethro who sits out Free Agency.

If a team is willing to trade for him, they will be more than willing to pick him up as a free agent.

You actually take a larger cap hit.

And no way Jerry will do that to appease 9 fans on this board.

Dak doesn’t have the leverage to block a trade to LV.

Jerry has the Post June 1 card.

It’s all about the draft picks LV is willing to give up.
Dak has all the cards and all of the leverage.

GM Jethro does not like it and is taken his ball and going home by sitting out free agency.

Maybe he should trade all of this years draft picks for more picks next year as well.

Wait, this is extremely contradictory.

Dak sucks, cut him, post june 1 blah blah blah

But he would fetch a herschel walker type trade with multiple picks blah blah blah

If he sucks how does he have such market value? Makes zero sense.

Well said.

And w/ the no trade clause, they put all the peaches in his basket.
The part we don't know is if they have already had these discussions with Dak and he is open to the move to a potential trade partner. If he plays hardball...they have to tell him he will play behind Lance all year and that will get him to make a move, imo.

It is just very weird how they are proceeding. Something is up.

June 1 cut spreads the hit over two seasons.

We save 29 million in base for 2024.
