You don't blow it up now. You do that after you get a good, experienced coach in here who knows what he's doing and can tell you who he thinks can play and who can't.

Yeah, like 8-8. People act like Tony's the only QB out there when every year, different QBs take their teams to the playoffs and the Super Bowl.

I'm also someone who wants to blow this crop of mediocrity up. I get no joy out of being right there in the middle every year with no hope of getting better. I just want better than .500, and I know most fans want that too.

These next couple of years are crucial to the success of the future. 5 years ago, people said, let's add this let's add that, let's get rid of him and him. We did that. 4 years ago, people were like, if we just add this and subtract this, we're destined. 3 years ago, people said, let's add this, and cut that, and fire him. 2 years ago, same thing, last year, same thing. At what point do we start over?

Wait, so you want to get rid of one of the only few bright spots on this team we have? I just don't understand your mentality, you want to blow up our top 10 offense because you "want better than .500"? So what about the defense that's ranked among the worst in the NFL, they just get a pass? If we're going to overhaul something, it needs to be our weakness, not our strength ...

Thankfully you're not our GM, because blowing up our offense to get better than .500 would be a horrible idea, how about fixing that bottom of the barrel defense first?

If we're going to start making the playoffs, it's going to be because of our defense getting better, not our offense.

First let me state that I think Tony Romo is a great QB and he is absolutely capable of winning a SB with the right team. I just don't think the Cowboys are that team right now.

So what would you think about this:

We blow it up in 2014. The Cowboys are a pretty young team with the exception of Romo, Ware and Witten. Let's say we trade Tony for a late first (KC?) or an early 2nd and another pick (Hou?), we trade Witten for a 3rd (NE, Atl, KC) and we cut or trade Ware. That would give us an additional 3 or 4 high picks and help us a lot capwise.

In free agency, I would do absolutely nothing and would let Hatcher and Spencer go, that would give us some comp picks for the next year.

In the Draft, we go heavy on the front 7 on the Defensive side and unless one of the top 3 QBs falls to us in the first we draft one in the 3th, 4th round (Boyd, McCarron).

That leaves us with 1 rookie QB and 4 or 5 new defensive players on the defense in the first 3 rounds of the draft. The rest I assume will be safeties from small schools.

We head into training camp with the same offense minus Tony and with 3 or 4 new young starters on the defense and a much better cap situation. And here's the thing, we start the rookie QB the whole season.

Now two things can happen, if the rook is any good we probaly get another 8-8 season but with a huge upside. If he is bad we probably have a top 5 pick in 2015 and we get Winston or whoever is the top QB. If that is the case we should also have a new coaching staff (wooo).

We then go after 2 or 3 top free agents plus the Draft and are ready to roll in 2015.

What do you guys think?

They blew it up back in 2011 and the O-line is just now starting to get back in shape and allot of new guys are just hitting their stride. Not really a good idea to do it every 3-4 years. http://www.bloggingtheboys.com/2011/7/28/2301453/dallas-cowboys-cut-nine-players-mar-colombo
