I know others probably disagree, but I would never trade draft picks unless it was for higher picks or a larger quantity of picks, especially in today’s NFL.

The only exception would be if the team is having a great season and loses a key player, but even then it would have to be a player that is vital and not replaceable by another player already on the team.

You just told me you wouldn't have traded for Charles Haley in 1992.

Well, we don't really know how good Lance is. This organization is so bad at talent evaluation sometimes that he could be the next Mahomes and they would refuse to play him .... just like they are doing. Or he could have "offended" one of the overlords and has been blacklisted.

Rush deserves the opportunity & I am happy to see him doing well so no issue from me there. But there were some lanes last night that I would have loved to have had Trey's athleticism to exploit.

I dont mind trading a pick, but we keep doing it for guys who have busted already. Lance halfway made sense, maybe, but Mingo is mind numbing.

We've made some bad decisions with draft picks the last couple of years that is really hurting this team.

Mazi, Guyton, Schoonmaker, Lance, Mingo.

Team We Always Draft Well needs to get it together.

And Trey Lance’s total cap hit this year is more than Saquon Barkley’s cap hit this year. Let that marinate while thinking about all the GMs who find a way to work the cap in order to bring in the missing pieces needed to win despite having the same financial challenges we do.

Having a GM that knows how to manage the salary cap is worth more in on-field results than a GM who crows about how much his team is worth and how beautiful his stayjum looks when the sun blinds his star receiver.

Blow draft picks like we are the la rams, but pick dudes from ufl/xfl like Aubrey and turpin. Go figure.
And the rams have a SB win and two NFC championships in the last decade. Wouldn’t we be willing to exchange some draft picks for that? Problem is we don’t have a front office capable of even knowing how to do that.

So on one hand you say we wasted a draft pick and on the other you say we suck at it.

No likes for you sir.

Lance is obviously a disappointment. Had he actually shown he had the potential to supplant Preciouscott, it would've been a home run. Problem is he was a training-camp/pre-season disaster and it forced their hand to stupidly pay the most ridiculous contract to a QB ever.

They have no plans really, they just throw darts and hope they hit something.

I wanna know what the hell has happened to Will McClay !
He has been a very good talent evaluator up until the last couple of years - are the Jones's simply overiding him, or what is going on ? We know the dumb trades are on Jerry, but the last couple of drafts have not been what we were used to.
If we are only a draft centric team, we need to be way, way better !

In hindsight, Lance didn’t make sense either.

But I think the clear pattern is an owner who repeatedly tries to ‘game the system’ where he thinks he’s acquiring talent at a discount.

Whether that be drafting questionable characters like Randy Gregory, or injured players like Jaylen Smith, to name but a few.

Now he trades for proven busts like he thinks he knows better. And the (lack of) results clearly proves that he doesn’t.

But when there’s no accountability, it’s merely someone else’s problem.

Yes, no accountability allows him to take stupid risks. That and he's never forgiven himself for passing on Randy Moss.
