Henry solves a lot of these issues. Pollard is not a North south runner. And the fact the FO thought he was is scary.

MM needs to incorporate more stretch, counter, and misdirection runs.
with the current OL play, no RB can be successful. RBs are getting hit behind the LOS or at the LOS often. there are no holes to run through, so even Henry would struggle.

Henry is not going to fix the run game himself if the OL continues to struggle. Would be a meaningless move and waste of draft capital.

Trust me I'm all for bringing him in if the OL wasn't struggling big time
:hammer:
Exactly, there is no miracle cure until OL is fixed. our blocking scheme is really bad. both in running game and passing game.

The run game is a product of the conservative pass game. Teams are able to play downhill with no consequence because Dallas is afraid to go vertical.

Nothing else matters after that.

You watch that video and you see two thing. First, the OL is not moving people to create a hole. Second, OL that are supposed to get upfield and take out the LBs and/or safeties are whiffing on their blocks. There is one play where Tyler Smith completely whiff on the LB who runs into the hole and makes the tackle in the backfield.

Our TEs are not getting done either. They do not hold their blocks long enough, and Hunter Luepke is not a great blocking FB. Someone needs to work with these guys to show them how to do the job right.

There might be something to the fact that Solari ain't gettin' it done.
Possibly similar to that failed OL coach Alexander type run scheme/philosophy again.

Cuz it just don't make sense that all of the oline run blocking AND the RB sucks all of a sudden.

It's like they just threw out their most successful run concepts from last year because... reasons.

Honestly, some of this is by design.

What I mean is that when MM chooses to keep slamming Pollard into a brick wall, he's essentially choosing "safe plays," "time of possession" and "keeping the defense fresh for the end of the games" over just straight offensive production.

Kellen Moore would've just abandoned the run, which is why fans hated him. But the yards/play would've been higher.

Send a 2nd, we seem to continually waste that pick anyway
