The Cowboys can get Anquan Boldin. Now.

I'd be much more tempted to trade Felix for a really good defensive player.

Who do you have in mind, if you could chose anyone?

While I certainly believe a good, effective, passing game is pretty important I'm sure there are quite a few superbowl teams that would disagree that it's the most important.

I mean our team alone wouldn't have agreed with that during their 3 wins in 4 years. Our passing was nice but it was pretty clear that without Emmitt (as proven in the first two games of 93) that team doesn't function nearly as well, and doesn't win 3 Superbowls in 4 years.

The Giants teams that have won would completely disagree with the idea that passing is the most important.

It's all important, for sure, but I'm not sure passing is more important than the running game or defense. Maybe that's just me though.

Especially if you look at football across the board, not just in the NFL, then that statement absolutely doesn't hold true. Way too many high school teams out there (And yes they count as part of the game in my humble opinion) that run offenses that are 95% run and win state championships with that.
You've got it backwards. If you look at individual situations, it may not hold true. But if you look at football as a whole, it's certainly true. The evidence is there. It's overwhelming.

Also, as for defense, it's the opposite side of the same coin. Stopping an effective pass attack is much more important than stopping an effective running game. I think it might be too hard to conclude whether having a more effective pass defense is more important than having a more effective pass offense, so I certainly don't make any claims there.

No one, although safety makes the most sense. I might even consider offensive linemen.

You do realize that defenses have to defend against the pass don't you? So, if your opponent's passing game is their most important aspect, then your pass defense should be yours.

Jerry isn't trading Felix to anyone for anyone. Jerry doesn't trade juice/explosiveness, he accumulates it. He will trade a grinder like Barber or Choice before Felix regardless of him running at most 10-15 times a game. Felix can become a unique weapon like Michael Westbrook with possibly more explosiveness.

I bet Jerry rather have Maclin (who isn't NFL proven) out of the draft than Anquan Boldin. Maclin will be a stud in this league and would add a different dimension to this offense. Anquan Boldin would be nice but isn't that WR that can stretch the field, which is what we lack. Neither of these WR's will be on this team. I would give a truckload for Maclin though. 2nd with Crayton and either Choice or Barber. If he's on the right team Maclin will be devastating.

Now that the Jags will go and get Holt Maclin or Crabtree drop a bit. Rather have Maclin though.

The most important part of a football team is the guy that knows how to utilize both the passing and running game depending on the opposing team...nothing more.

That is why it called a "game".

Yes, I think we all realize this is pretty farfetched, although I can see why most fans would demand some sort of scoring threat in return.

Well, when football was invented, they did just run, mostely.

Then the passing game opened up the whole thing to what it is today.

Think of it this way. If you had to go somewhere REALLY FAST, would you rather run, or catch a plane?

Actually, what you just said is true!

The QB is the most important part of a football game. If he cannot pass the ball, then the team is not going nowhere! He can always "hand off" to a running back....see what he can do.

Now you are getting it....

All aspects of a game are important. That is why it's called a game...depending on who you are playing.

We can find games where the running game won it, and find games where the passing game won it.

What about the 2 minute drill? Do they rely on the run or the pass?

I think it is more likely that Jerry would move up in the Draft to take Hakeem Nicks (a physical WR like Bolden) than it would be to go after Boldin and pay him the money it would take plus give up a player the team covets back to do it.
