Eagles handed out 13 million a year for 115 receiving yards and 1 Touchdown......
Colts paid Brissett 28 million last year to sit on the bench.
Trae Wayne got 14 million and didn't even play in a game last year.
CJ Mosley got 17 million per year......
Carson Wentz got 32 million.....
David Johnson got 13 million.....
Looks like you showed him.

The timing of this is weird. No apparent reason unless they plan on signing someone long term like Gallup or Williams.
michael gallup...if that is indeed what its for.
or an attempt any way.

I thought Gallup would be my choice. I'd make Conner Williams play out the season.

Connor Williams is more valuable than Gallup in my opinion. Much harder to find starting caliber OL than 2nd or 3rd WRs.

I am a big fan of Gallup but Williams is more a priority in my opinion. Hopefully, they sign both.

Sure, but instead of signing guys that will actually help the team with this cap space they do things like give Jaylon Smith a massive contract he doesn't deserve.
Point being. All the ******** about Prescott money. We always find away. And everybody *****ed

Gallup will certainly sign a bigger contract than Williams will because he will be viewed as a definite #2 by a team. So Gallup could potentially bring a 3rd rounder as a free agency loss. If Cooper has a year that is below par or has injuries again, Cowboys have to consider letting him walk next year, and if they do, it would be nice to have Gallup back. Williams has to sign a deal that is team friendly to be back. He is an average to slightly, and I mean very slightly, above average guard.

When is the last time I started a Dak thread? Of course people comment on Dak threads because that is what seems to dominate this group recently. That said, I also comment on threads about the o-line, defense, etc. So again, how is it I only focus on Dak?
You’re wasting your time he’s one of the brain dead ones. He just trolling along.

You think so? Please name all of the huge high priced free agents we signed in the last 10 years. Now why is it we haven't been able to sign any?
Tsk Tsk....I don't think so....I KNOW SO!!:lmao2:

Miss me with the follow up red herring question.

I am not dumb enough do to research on high priced FA signings in the past 10 years for Cowboys....it's simple minded question with a known answer to satisfy simple minds.

The smarter question...5 years of the past decade were under Tony Romo's 2008 & 2013 contracts.

Romo was only the highest paid QB for 3 minutes in 2013....With the cap constantly going up per the CBA why didn't Stephen Jones build a juggernaut defense around Romo???

Go play checkers with @PAPPYDOG and the other Dak Haters:muttley:

Yes...."Kicking more money down the road" aka Restructuring Contracts is a tool used by Smart GMs and Owners.

Dumb fans are gullible enough to believe in Cap Hell.

Look at Wentz and Goff....according to you Dak Haters those teams should not be competitive.....:lmao2:

Yet another who can't help but be a troll.

What are you talking about? Why do you keep bringing up Dak? And I'm not a Dak hater at all. Clearly you don't know this team has at least a slight cap issue and to you the cap discussion is a Dak issue because of some insecurity you seem to have about him

Again, we currently (will change) have the worst cap situation in the league in 2023 by a lot. This is of course because we have more high $ players signed (some teams have no signed QB right now for 2023) so as we release them or other teams sign guys this will grow much closer, but we are currently more than $50M worse off than any other team and $90M worse off than anyone but the Saints. To pretend there is no cap issue at all is moronic.

Over the cap has slightly different numbers but the story is similar.

How can the Cowboys have the worst cap situation in the league in 2023 when the cap hasn't even been set yet? And don't you realize many of the current players won't even be on the team in 2023.

That bolded doesn't make any sense. Pick your own cap for the year if you want and apply the known contracts to it for all teams and we are still the worst regardless of what cap amount you pick!
As far as the players not on the team in 2023 I guess you didn't even read the post you that quoted as I said it "will change" and the variance will "grow much closer" as "we release" players and other teams "sign guys". At least make an attempt to read a post if you are going to quote it.

The point isn't even that we are the worst, the point is we are the worst by a **** ton. We will of course make adjustments so that we are under the cap, but pretending we don't even have a slight issue when we are this much worse off than every other team at the current time is just moronic.

We've heard this record before....

Remember...back in 2013, people from your fake news tribe told us 2017 we'll have the worst cap situation.....blah blah

Do you Factor in seasonal cap increases to your fuzzy math?

I apologize if you are not a Dak Hater....eradicating this pesky vermin is a tough job. Dak Haters tend to hide behind trope arguments like worst cap or cap hell.

Seasonal cap increases are meaningless when comparing our cap situation with other teams. If no team is within $50M of us the cap assumptions don't change anything. increase or decrease teh cap by as muich as you want and we are still in the worst position by a lot.

"Remember back in 2013": So go back in time to 2013. How many high priced free agents were we able to afford since then? It was because of our cap situation. No other reason.

Only one I know of that would have made a difference on a team winning or losing was Brady ....... high price free agents are a waste of money unless you are keeping your own.

After letting players like Byron Jones , Robert Quinn , Randal Cobb ,etc walk because they didn’t have enough cap space to keep them, there are still fans that claims the salary cap is not an issue. There has been several situations where the cap prevented the team from signing there own players and free agents. The cap has been a problem in Dallas on a regular basis. The fact that they had to restructure Dak’s contract and several others over the last year is obvious signs that the team has cap issues. I know that I have posted in several threads about the cap issue and none of these posters responded when the cold hard truth is available.

I do not think they really wanted to keep those players. But that is just my opinion.
What has any of those players done on their new teams?
