wHAt hAppEneD tO Cap Hell? I THOUGHT Dak's contract Destroyed the Cowboys
Dak Haters use your fingers
I've not seen this defense play yet, so unlike you, I prefer the wait and see approach before I crown them the 85' Bears like you have. How'd Smith get dragged into this discussion? Nothing positive with you EVER. Hey, La'ell's back. Dak's back. Tyron's back. They drafted arguably the best defensive player in the draft. There's a brand new defensive coaching staff and Thursday night the Cowboys play against the defending SB champs. Lots to be positive about and excited for.
So this means Dak has pocketed like 72 million and hasn’t played in a game in almost 11 months.

Of what?Jealous?
You can't stand how well we're run.
I use to think it was a bad thing until I saw the Eagles this year have the worst cap situation I've seen in recent memory and still be able to sign Stephen Nelson. I've given up on the term "cap hell". I think with most fans it was something brought up to use in debates against signing guys like Dak to a big term deal but I've yet to see a team get destroyed due to cap hell. And Eagles handed out some terrible contracts to some 30+ year old gusy............So kicking more money down the road is a good thing? Okay.
Thank you we need more positivity around here man...I mean damn we haven't even lost yet and its doom and gloom. How'd Smith get dragged into this discussion? Nothing positive with you EVER. My guess is carry over. I dont know if there is anyone available that we would need to create cap space forWonder if this is about carryover or potentially improving the roster now.

Well for the record, how many guys get extensions in the NFL and all of a sudden get better? It sucks for these guys they have to wait until they have 4 or 5 years of abuse to their body to get paid. Sure for Quarterbacks its ok because they play until they are in their late 30's......not for the rest of the positions though. When we watch players like DLaw, J. Smith, Zeke, and Collins get huge extensions and then underperform I would think any contract issue/move Dallas makes creates a sense of leeriness with many. That said, at the end of the day the way Dallas runs their franchise means nothing in our daily lives as the only finances we control is our own.
You do understand that when you restructure to create cap space it generally means you have a cap issue? So while I don't think we are in cap Hell personally, this hurts your argument, it doesn't help it
Hopefully they just roll this space forward and then the math basically works out the same as if they don't kick this unnecessary money into outer years.
This is misleading because it is a frozen point in time and will certainly change a lot, but just to show where we are cap wise as we sit here today look at all teams for 2023. No team is within $50M of us:

I'm not encouraging all posters to not be doom and gloom I'm just saying its our first game of the season and positivity is welcoming to be around. I'm just not use to doom and gloom before the season opener. This is like Christmas for me.I respect your desire for more positivity but there are many others in this group you could use as an example of that rather than the member you just pointed out. That said, enjoy the day.
