Dak trolls once again look foolish.

1. Please stop with the trolls/hater comments simply because people express their opinions on players that may differ from your own.

2. Not sure how anyone looks foolish about Dak's contract if they expressed their opinion as to what he is going to be paid versus his on the field performance. Base salary was converted into a signing bonus which just means that the dead money on Dak's contract make it so that Dak is here for at least the next 3-4 seasons barring any injury (which of course would mean that money hits the cap regardless).

This move may be a show of confidence in Dak's health or just may be positioning Dallas to attempt to sign free agents next season, eat dead money on bad contracts by trading/releasing player(s), or looking to re-sign existing players to contract extensions. Regardless, it's their move to make not ours.

You do understand that when you restructure to create cap space it generally means you have a cap issue? So while I don't think we are in cap Hell personally, this hurts your argument, it doesn't help it
Hopefully they just roll this space forward and then the math basically works out the same as if they don't kick this unnecessary money into outer years.

This is misleading because it is a frozen point in time and will certainly change a lot, but just to show where we are cap wise as we sit here today look at all teams for 2023. No team is within $50M of us:

I get what you're saying but I think what he's speaking on is around this team for the past two years we've been told that we can't sign Dak because if we sign him we won't have any cap space. We will be in "cap hell". Which just isn't true. There are so many ways to clear cap space.

Well for the record, how many guys get extensions in the NFL and all of a sudden get better? It sucks for these guys they have to wait until they have 4 or 5 years of abuse to their body to get paid. Sure for Quarterbacks its ok because they play until they are in their late 30's......not for the rest of the positions though.

The way the CBA is set up, players sign rookie contracts for 4-5 years and they know that going in. That said, without providing a list there are plenty of players that sign extensions and continue to improve at all positions but as seen in Dallas there are plenty of examples of players getting extensions and failing to produce (aka DLaw, J. Smith, Collins, Zeke, etc.).

Which some of us here tried to tell people, or at least bring up the possibility of, being the case.

And were loudly (and is some cases viscously) berated.

But that's fine, not like this site isn't like society in general these days...

I'm not encouraging all posters to not be doom and gloom I'm just saying its our first game of the season and positivity is welcoming to be around. I'm just not use to doom and gloom before the season opener. This is like Christmas for me.

The start of a season is always exciting but with Martin out, Collins questionable, and Dak coming back from injury I am sure you can see why members may be concerned given Dallas faces an attacking defense like TB. Perhaps Dallas can surprise people with a win or at least a competitive game but given recent high expectations going into a season only to be let down many express a cautious approach to the start of a season recently.

Troll haters like you look foolish because the Cowboys have NEVER been in salary cap hell with Dak. NEVER.

Just one more thing you cry baby trolls are wrong about.

I will say whatever I want within the rules. LOL If you dont like it, continue to cry like a spanked baby to the moderators like you always do. OR delete your account or put me on ignore.

Wait.............so the Cowboys can do things without my permission? Wow, some genius stuff there.

Another grade A response from a grade F poster.

Well, Jerry gets attached, and wants everyone to be happy.

That 10 million they gave to Crawford last year for one of the worst seasons I've ever seen a pro player have could have been carried over to this year also....without adding extra dead money...

But then they wouldn't be eternal BFF.

Decisions like that are why of this team ever does win, it'll be in spite of leadership.

Excuse me if I get sick when people worship Jerry Jones.

:hammer::hammer::hammer:

The awful truth some fans can’t admit.

Sure, but instead of signing guys that will actually help the team with this cap space they do things like give Jaylon Smith a massive contract he doesn't deserve.

Jaylon's contract was done what 2 years ago. So what does this have to do with your agenda on clearing up $5 million now?

Cmon, this is a dream come true for you. An opening game against the defending champs with a rusty Dak and the Oline hurting. You can jump up and down with glee if we lose like you always do.

You can continue your troll hating ways for a few more weeks.

Oh sure, but comments like (paraphrasing here) "0-2 here we come" or "this team sucks" or "Dallas will never win a SB with Dak" or "the coaching staff are idiots" don't read to me as being cautious, they are "doom and gloom"...

I mean you could argue Lawrence "got better". I'm referring to production. I just think about all of the guys who got big deals....Michael Thomas, Khalil Mack, Von Miller, JJ Watt.....I'm just trying to think who signs a big deal and actually produces better than they did before they got it? I'm just bouncing ideas I honestly can't think of anyone that's not a quarterback. And hell even some quarterbacks seem to get worse.

First off, Dak only got a dramatic salary increase last season with the franchise tag so not sure your point about Dallas NEVER being in salary cap hell with Dak, something I never said but admit to expressing whether Dak is worth the money he received albeit that is the way of the NFL recently.

That said, you say you can say anything you want within the rules then continue to go on an offer name calling and insults which is actually against the rules.

Regardless, I offered an adult reply to your comment without being rude so your reply only goes towards reflecting on you and not me. Enjoy the day.

It's carryover, as it should be.

I don't think they can do it once the season starts....and this is probably cap space to re sign some of the one year guys that we want to return come March.....or whoever they decide to retain from the 18 class.

It's basically borrowing from four years from now to have extra cap space this coming off season.

Randy Gregory possible extension or to be able to keep him next year?

Jaylon's contract is just the perfect example of how they waste this restructure stuff they do to free up cap space.

It's not THAT hard to understand if ya take your head it of the sand and look at the organization with unbiased eyes.

Not really. It means that the Cowboys have little things they can do in order to get what they want. Dak's contract is not killing this team like some said. Not by a long shot.

And when you look at all the other contracts that will come off the books in the next year or two, then it becomes even more laughable.

Zeke and Jaylon alone will created another 30 million in cap space. Cooper another 22 if we want it.

I think your salary cap numbers need some work.
