Definitely talking about CB and WR.
If we simply maintain what we are on defense then that is a major fail.
I'm pleased they aren't falling for Butler. It would be a major step back thinking he could fill in for TWill. I would bring Butler back at a low contract # but certainly not as the #2 outside WR.
There are tons of options now in FA at WR. Some better players than TWill, if we aren't bringing him back.
Ok. Then who?If the defense is not improved this offseason then it is a major fail.
There is nothing controversial about the statement and everyone knows it to be true.
Who said anything about it being done in F.A. by finding someone worth paying?
So who would they need to bring in that's available for you to believe they value a top ranked defense?same crap every year. jerry and Stephen jones still do not value a top ranked defense. I guess he is thinking that if we have a great offense we can outscore our own defense to win games. that works in the regular season but in the playoffs defense wins championships.
Still trying to process the WR thing, cb I get(still have no clue who it would be) but hmmm I very well might be back in this thread after I get my coffee.
and then wonder why they get burnt with no pressure and even less over-the-top help.Corners, corners, corners it is. Get your rest tonight, skip work tomorrow if you want to see our first round choice perform in Indianapolis.
This CB class is deep enough you can get a starter probably into the 3rd, maybe even 4th. But watch us take one in the 1st.and then wonder why they get burnt with no pressure and even less over-the-top help.
Man, we suck at drafting CB's..they never work out
Ok. Then who?
Is there a secret list of free agents we don't know about or are we counting on old guys getting cut in camp.
A major fail would be if we had the opportunity to make a significant upgrade and we didn't do it.
Where are all the guys who would actually upgrade our defense? Our best hope is internal and the gamble aka draft.
@MichaelWinicki
I refuse to accept your like for predicting this upcoming disaster.
I will leave it on the doorstep. No need to ring the bell when you come back for it.

Even if Carr and Claiborne walked, which I don't think they both do, starting Scandrick and Brown with a FA or rookie is just instant death? Why?
Re: that last quote--please shoot me now.
Until we sign Butler, imo it would be a waste to trade up for a pass rusher, unless something drastic happens. I want young(I admit unproven) depth and as many picks as we can get. WR, DE, 1 tech, linebacker, guard, tackle, safety, corner, heck we need picks. If I had a good offer i would trade out of the first in a heartbeat.we only have dez and beasley.
they need a #2 WR.
they are trying to get/keep draft capital to trade up for the DE.
