RELEASED The Cowboys have released Ezekiel Elliott

You're right, and Henry would have been a nice addition while we bring that young RB along. They were obvious choices that we failed to make.
It’s pretty obvious Jerry intentionally torpedo this season. When you’re only goal is to maximize profit, it’s no wonder we haven’t won anything in 30 years.

I think that's a bit hyperbole...

I'd take him over signing Haynesworth.
Only because you saw how Haynesworth turned out in Washington. But prior to that he was widely regarded as one of the premier DTs in football. It was worth the gamble for them, and no one would've guessed how his career tumbled from there. No one.

This team CUT Zeke 18 months prior because his production had steadily decreased for 5 years running. Then he had an even worse year for the Patriots. Then with that body of work stacked in front of their face they actually SIGNED him again. Anyone with a functioning set of eyeballs, and a brain, knew he was burnt toast....3 years ago (or longer).

Would he add any value to any playoff team right now? If no one even looks at him will they then realize how dumb it was for them to sign him in the first place?
If this was his agents idea...... talk about not reading the room. o_O His agent apparently doesn't see Zeke the way the rest of the league sees Zeke.

Think it was Broaddus that said, the Cowboys were going to play the young guys (Duece) and Zeke was going to be inactive possibly, so they mutually parted ways early.

I have a feeling Zeke will be playing well into January. Unlike his Cowboys teammates. He asked for his release which means his agent had gotten a call or three about his possible availability for a playoff run. The good news is that with fewer than 75 carries he will be fresher than he has ever been at this time of year during his time in the NFL.
Lol dude, nobody is picking him up. He's a liability to any offense

In post #370:

"he's the third all time running back in Dallas cowboy history as it sits right now behind two of the best that we've ever seen play here "
Yea, but after Smith and Dorsett there's a pretty big dropoff in Rb talent

On zeke's FIRST carry of 3 or less yards, we all should laugh as loud as we can!!!!!! lol

You're kidding yourself witt, he's a "great pass blocker" lol, I know it's important, but damn is that all he's able to do these days, the 1-3 yard gains are doing nothing!!!! If i'm the starting running back and they pull me out in the red zone to put him in, I'm mad!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hold up, Coog, Zeke has to get signed first or did I miss the news.
you didn't miss anything my friend, i'm just saying if I do all the hard running, and they put him in the way the Cowboys use him to get the tough TD, i'm pissed!!

Sorry Coogs but the red zone IS the hard running. Running between the 20's isn't even half as tough as when you get down close. Take it from someone who has been there.. The space shrinks because DBs have less territory to defend so the defense is far more compressed ... When you get that close you either need really good blocking or ridiculous power. Since the Cowboys rarely had the former Zeke game them at least the latter.

not the point at all i'm making, I hear what you're saying, but you're saquon for example, you did all that hard running to get down the field, then to be pulled out in the red zone area? Not cool
