Legal issues. Had 15 sacks last season.

Justin Houston 25 KC
Has 14 sacks this season. Probably gets franchised.

Jerry Hughes
Has 9.5 sacks this year and 10 last year.

Cliff Avril 28 SEA
Has 4.5 sacks. Had 8 sacks last season as a backup.

Jason Pierre-Paul 25 NYG
Has 5 sacks this season. Might get over paid due to name recognition.

Adrian Clayborn 26 TB
On IR. Had 5.5 sacks in 2013 and 7.5 sacks in 2011. Missed most of 2012 and 2014.

My issue with Hughes is that he was a bust before joining that DL. He has some ability, but I think he becomes very average on the right side without 3 stars eating blockers.

If JPP was smart he would be looking for a two year deal. Two years of high play somewhere else gets him Mario Williams money. A two year deal should net him 5 to 6 per. I dont think he will get 6 if he signs a long term deal this year

If they follow the same asinine blueprint as this past offseason, Jones and Co. sign a cheap no-talent and claim success just like they did with the Mincey signing.

I remember when we switched from the 4-3 to the 3-4 during the Parcell years. At the time Jerry said the hardest piece to get in a 4-3 is the DEnds. Seems we are back to that situation again. I hope we don't start reaching for the Eb Ekubans, Shante Carvers and Kavika Pittmans of the world again. We also can't overpay for average DEnd talent.

Yep - Buffalo's defense is the real deal, too bad the Bllls are missing the most important piece - the QB.

Yep, and their offensive line/running back situation has been the worst it has been in several seasons.

Spencer's another year removed from surgery. Mincey was just getting acclimated to the scheme. Lawrence is like a new draft pick. Selvie was hurt all year.

Wait for it and Go Cowboys.

The cheap defensive line signings had more to do with lack of funds, in my opinion. Yeah, I know some people claim cap space is meaningless.

I believe we had to go cheap despite the battle cry "we can do whatever we want in free agency". I was just a little shocked with the decisive speed we went after what basically is a reserve talent and then backed away from the table, pretending everything was done. We are now getting the fruits of that in the form of the worst pass rush in the NFC outside of Atlanta.
