The Cowboys' realist path to the Big Dance

Yes, all means nothing without a win this week. Definitely a must win!
Keep this in mind about the Lions .........

Dan Campbell has been calling plays for the Detroit Lions since Week 10 of the 2025 season, taking over from offensive coordinator John Morton to "shake things up". His play-calling is often described as creative, emphasizing getting the ball to star players like Jahmyr Gibbs and Jameson Williams through shifts, motions, and play-action. While the results have been mixed, with some games showing high scoring and others inconsistent, Campbell has stated he will continue to call the plays, believing it is "the right thing to do right now"

+1 ....... their playoff hopes/chances could come down to this game. Honestly, I have a good feeling about this game, similar to the Eagles game. This will come down to our defense vs their offense IMO. Remember, Campbell took over play calling from OC Morton in week 10.
I think it comes down to the healthier team wins, and we are more healthy.

The best path is to win out. Then you know you have done everything within your power to reach the dance.

I have posted the scenario’s.

However, we must win Thursday.
And see what happens next Sunday, then go from there.

Spent enough time looking at it and reading about it.
I had a dream that we ended up with the 3rd seed so Ive been playing around to see how that happened and Im like lol lol No way!

Campbell to me, called the most safe *** game vs the Packers. Made it look like he didn't trust Goff at all on any critical down.
Main thing is to stop the run, and make them have to call more passing plays. Gibbs is still a threat, but if we can get Montgomery riding the bench more, and not allow them to cycle both backs with the run game that will be big.

Exactly.........he wants his offense going through Gibbs, NOT Goff.

Keep winning our games that’s the easiest path. If we do that and get to 11 wins great chance we get in
That's really it. 11 wins will get them in. 10 probably will not. They need to take it week to week and play their butts off.

One thing I don't want to hear or see is the moral victory stuff if this team
narrowly misses the playoffs.

Lions haven't looked good in recent weeks. However, they are a desperate team and will throw the kitchen sink at us. I am expecting at least 3 trick plays coming and a ton of 4th down calls.

I've been saying winning the division is the way to go........wildcard is next to impossible IMO. We need way too many teams to collapse vs the Eagles, losing 2-3 more games.

Eagles have lost 2 in a row.
Cowboys have won 3 in a row.
Commanders have lost 7 in a row.
Giants have lost 6 in a row.

Talk about a division struggling (outside of the cowboys).
We still need 2 more philly losses in order to run the table and win the division. We have to hope they lose to the chargers Monday night.

They close the season with the raiders, bills, and 2 games with the skins.

Yup. This game is their season, and in their house. But if we win, we will be on an underworldly tear.

Pretty sure we just went through that scenario with KC and Moutain.

KC has a better Defense and supposedly the best QB in the league.

this game is on the road where the cowboys have struggled all season long

If they don't win out, this may no matter. I do believe the most likely path to the playoffs is winning the division. Eagles will probably finish with 10 or 11 wins. If the Cowboys can finish with the same number of wins they'll get in due to the tie.

Winning the Division comes down Herbert and his left hand.
