I just paid a $1000 bucks for new tires on my truck, I can't afford to pay Carr his money.

Ooops, Sorry. Just realized he is not on my payroll.

I think if you are serious about improving the defense and going for a trophy then when push comes to shove you bite the bullet and pay him $8m. It should be half that and it is garbage value. I will not argue that. Thing is that there is no question that he would contribute a heck of a lot more than any replacement.

Murray and carr situations have nothing to do with eachother.

Of course they do. We couldn't keep Murray because we are spending so much on CBs. We even had to use another 1st round pick on a CB

Cap hits for CBs
Carr..............12.7m
Claiborne.......5.2m
Oscan.............4.3m
BJones...........2.1m
White..............1.5m
Patmon..........500k

Cap hits for RBs
Dunbar.............1.5m
McFadden.......1.1m
Williams...........700k
Randle..............632k

We never wanted to keep Murray, for whatever reason.

Thats how I feel about the situation. Cutting him now doesn't make the team better imo. The value is horrible and he'll never live up to the contract, but I would rather have him this year than not at this point. This is the main reason I wanted them to double dip at CB in the draft. There was some good CBs in the 3rd that would have helped more than Green will this year and I felt that way before Collins was signed. You could have used the cap savings to get your swing OT.

Every dollar saved this year can be used to keep Dez, Hardy, McClain, TCrawford and others that shall not be named.
