Dak's a straight up beast. Way ahead of where Tony was as a rookie, and the best rookie QB in the league right now as far as I'm concerned. If we didn't have a truly fantastic QB in front of him, keeping him is a no-brainer. Even as it is, I think it's something you look at very carefully and seriously consider.

That said, I think this team already knows Tony is coming back, and it's not a secret. You have Lawrence alluding to it in interviews this week, and just listening to how Witten dishes out praise for Dak....he handles that much more reservedly if he thinks Dak's really replacing Tony. I just don't think it's nearly as much of an up-in-the-air decision inside the locker room as it looks to be from the outside.

I might be wrong, though. Either way, I love Dak every bit as much as the next guy. This was a huge win tonight.

Yeah, I agree--Romo is back when he is fit. I can't blame the coaches for that either. Personally, I'd prefer to go with the hot hand. But rookie QBs--any rookie QB--put your team at a disadvantage. And this team has real playoff ambitions now.

I'm willing to bet you or anyone money that Dak's impressive gutty finish keeps Romo on the sidelines holding a clipboard for the next several weeks.

Quarterbacks and the teams they lead don't always win pretty. You have to win ugly too and that was one of the grittiest ugliest WINS of the year.

Definitely was a gritty win. And a great win. I still think it's a game where you look at what confused the rookie in the film room afterwards and it's a fairly long list of things. That's not a knock on Dak, either. It's just part of the process. But there's no doubt he was struggling with a lot of what was thrown at him tonight.

Exactly. I love Dak, he is the future of this franchise and my kids are going to grow up watching him win Super Bowls.

But Romo would have won this game by 10 points without OT. Everyone should just enjoy the fact we have two excellent QBs in a league where most teams don't have any.

I'm not going to disagree with you but I have a question for you...

How many ROOKIE QBs struggling would have gutted that win out like he did? Hat was not typical.

The throw to Beasley in overtime was bigtime as well.. He might have had a whole second to throw..

Linehan was back to the long drawn out routes against heavy blitzes.

I thought the defense did most of the gutting. He made some good throws down the stretch, but he also had some bad throws and decisions down the stretch as well.

I would imagine any qb would keep trying while the game is still in question.

There is no doubt he has exceeded expectations for a rookie.

Did you watch the game?
I did, think he won and went 10-13 down the stretch with Two td's.

The Eagles have a good d and confused him no question. You know Brady had a three pick game in his rookie season right? It happens to all rooks. If arm strength is all you are care about enjoy Blake Bortles and Jay Cutler-I'll stick with Dak and win.

You can't say enough about Dak. He wasn't at his best and still overcame a very good defense and several key penalties to find a way to win. The future is bright!!!

That's the best D he will see all year. Matter of fact, for Dak, next week should feel like setting the Madden game setting to easy.

I've been getting the feeling that the coaches are going back to Romo, and this game tonight was perfect justification for doing so with the added bonus of being a win. I could be wrong, but I don't think there could have been any better outcome for the coaches, and maybe in the long run, for the team.

I can't tell you how many times I cussed at him during the game, but this is by far his best game of the year. Am I talking statistically? Absolutely not. The guy had a horrid game and when it mattered most, he tied it up and then won it. This is exactly what I wanted to see him do. Play a good team from behind and rally your squad back.

Props to the ROY!

Right there with you, many times throughout the game I wondered what would have happened if Romo played instead. Daks mobility definitely helped today and he got away from sacks that Romo wouldnt have. On the opposite side I do think Romo hits a few more passes. However, when it mattered most Dak came through. Very proud of him for over coming an up and down game and leaving with the win. Just want to see them finish more of these drives in the red zone.

I

You guys seem to forget that Tony's won dozens and dozens of games like this. And he doesn't get confused by any blitz Jim Schwartz throws at him, period. To Dak's credit, the played through it and came out of it with the W. But we got lucky tonight, guys, too.

We lost 5 of 7 at home vs the Eagles before this game. While Romo may have been hurt for one or two of those without looking it tells me it's a bit silly to say he doesn't get confused by any blitz JIm Schwartz throws at him period. He actually got hurt on a Jim Schwartz blitz last season.

Oh he could've very easily had a complete rookie meltdown but we made plays down the stretch and won the game after he extended a play.

It's great that Dak was able to play through this tonight. But, yeah, if this was a playoff game and you had a healthy Romo on the sidelines, you're probably kicking yourself for playing the rookie for most of that game.

I don't worry too much about the hot hand, because Tony's hand will heat up pretty quick with this offense. I do worry about halting Dak's progress, though. He's learning so much, so fast right now, ad the team's winning through it. If you were to put Tony back in and he were to get hurt again down the line, you probably want your rookie to have seen as much as possible from the various defenses before the games are one-and-done.

Show me who you are WHEN IT COUNTS? I'm not about to start with this bull**** tonight.. but I remember a game in 2013 where we scored 48 points. Stats and style were through the roof... but we threw an int in the last couple minutes of the 4th WITH THE GAME ON THE LINE. I've seen rookies let a game like this get away soooo many times. There are so many lessons to learn in the NFL. Dak came up big when it counted. He made a ton of errors tonight but he stuck with it and showed guts.

Kind of like Romo has 30 times in his career.

Romo missed all but two of those games, I think. And one of the two he won.

We've lost our share of games with Tony starting. It's very rarely because of him being confused by a game plan to blitz him. Getting hurt and being confused obviously aren't the same things.

Tomorrow, I'm going to show two plays comparing Wentz and Prescott to show the difference between the two in tight window throws. I'll try to get some GIFs (The one was the INT, so it shouldn't be tough)

There is simply too much gameplanning around Prescott's faults that I just can't seem him being some 12-15 year QB. His footwork has seemed to get worse as the weeks have gone as well, he's regressing in that area.
