The Dak Prescott Thread **merged**

He’s a solid QB. If the team around him is good he can produce. He’s not nor will he ever be a Brady, Romo or Rodgers that can single handedly make a bad team competitive.

The last 2 years has shown Russell is the same kind of guy. Not nearly as good without Marshawn and the best defense in the league.

He also requires the game plan we saw tonight. Lots of shotgun and read option. Running Troy or Tony’s offense exclusively is a recipe for disaster

I don’t care about 400 plus yards. How 250 yards?

I mean he had a 64 yard TD throw on what his 2nd pass and still only ends up with 161 yards.

Yea he played better tonight with Accuracy but there has got to be more. In today’s NFL you should be a avg around 250 yards.

Great win against a division rival. I don’t want to be too critical. Let’s enjoy this win.
I hear you. I don't want to be too critical but we still have to be realistic. If Dak played for any other team folks would say without that big play what did he really do so I think we as fans can be real enough to do that while also not being too hard esp after a win.

I rate his play a B. He had a couple of deep passes tonight. He played well. But it was mentioned on national TV that he dropped off on the big plays afterwards. But anyway, the win's on him. :)

B- Good enough to win if everyone else plays well. But if the O-Line, Zeke, or D has an off day, we're screwed.

Or was this enough? I’d say it’s enough if the defense could kee it up his stat line tonight I’m perfectly fine with. Dangerous Russ had the same kinda average when Seattle won super bowl 20 25 throws 200 yrd and a TD or 2 not a lot to ask right?? Anyways good win :dance:

Seattle has one of the elite defense in history that could overcome a 5 INT performance by RW against a prime Aaron Rodgers.. plus RW can air it out when he has too and can throw from the pocket..

The Giants look abysmal, particularly OL...

Our defense though is impressive right now..

Well this defense could still get better the ceiling is high for this defense in my opinion

He did enough to win the game and was the best player on offense . That's really all I can ask . Win the game and I really don't care what your stats are . I have watched enough empty stat compiling for a life time . JUST WIN

Russell has been better without Marshawn. I really wish you folks would stop thinking Prescott somehow compares.

Outside of Brady, Brees, and Rodgers, Wilson is about the only other elite QB in the league right now.

I agree, especially with Irving coming back. I have no faith in Gregory though, like some do.

The thing with Seattle’s defense is they rarely had to bliz, basicalky used to rush 4 and often got pressure with that, but their DBs and safety play was just that good.

We are blitzing a lot more and our DL seems pretty fast, so I wouldn’t necessarily compare them. I’m surprised how aggressive Marinelli is right now.

There is excitement here...

This is true. The 4 man rush isn’t as dominant as it needs to be yet.

The LB plays surprises me. The LB coverage in the middle of the field has been fantastic.

I wouldn’t say we blitz a lot but more then we are used too I think Gregory has talent just a head case

That’s what I mean. By faith, I mean Gregory is not only a head case, but he’s already on an extremely tight leash with the NFL.

Personally, we are a lot more aggressive. I’m used to seeing read and react defense for the last few years. This defense is playing in the opponent’s face right now.

We went away from the passing game in the second half to shorten the game and it could have backfired. The offense was stagnant.....I thought we should have kept throwing the ball.

Overall Dak looked like he did his rookie year. Last week he handed the ball off to Zeke....this week he kept it.

Not against really good defenses. This Giants defense isn’t the Eagles or Vikings on D.

The passing game is going to have to continue to evolve and improve.
Great point. One thing to remember is this is the 1st year with this team for Hurns, Austin and Gallup. It takes time to build up that confidence in each other. That’s why we can’t turn our noses up at these ugly wins. It’s a process.....
