The Dak Prescott Thread **merged**

New and Better Coaching at defense (RICHARD) making defensive players look much better .

on the other hand,
Dak has Kellen Moore, linehan and Garrett.

the Oline needs A LOT of work guys even Zeke had to fight for his 79 or whatever it was..the middle without leary and Fredrick is getting collapsed..take the damn win and move on as most of the nfl showed week one to week 2 was very different and I can see some improvement..

He was okay overall. Not great as a passer, but solid with the read-option. The offense struggled. Without the read-option it appears to be dead in the water. That's not the position I want to be in.

Better than last week, but not much, and the Giants aren't that good.

I saw progress there is still a lot to be worked on that should have been worked out in preseason but we are going in a positive direction .

In the preseason many thought thompson would be gone be was the leading WR for.catches....

Well, that 8-1 also doesn’t you about the quality of opponents offense either. So it could possibly include playing some really bad teams as well.

No doubt. Believe me Khiladi. I also think Dak needs to get better.

He isn’t going to last long term if he doesn’t improve his pocket presence and footwork.

But he isn’t a bum either. He is right now, an average QB but he also brings the running aspect which helps things.

This team neeeds to have an awesome defense themselves. Which I think they can.

The only bad moment I remember was the missed TD pass. He threw the ball away on a few of those incompletions. He also made a nice throw on 3rd and 10 that was brought back by a penalty.

I think if the running game ever looks dominant this year his numbers will be better. Boy really getting a ton of help there yet.

Almost picked on the throw to Beasley in the endzone, but much better than last week.

B for me. He started out real well then dissapered again for almost 2 qtrs. The B is because he ran well too. The Giants are anemic. Seattle will be a better test.
Yeah a lot of people seem to forget that after the first drive or two he went ghost for a hot minute.

As I said multiple times, Dak’s passing is best in the short, middle of the field on slants. If he keeps everything in front of him and makes the quick decisive read, he tends to throw them well. Even TWill got one this game, even though his bread and butter is the outside. Dallas passing was heavily oriented that way that game.

This is basically what the passing offense is going to look like I would harbor to guess.

You guys can say whatever you want about him. He wants to win. Dak will pass or run it himself if he has to. I'd give him a B+. He needs to play more like the first drive of the game and the last.

It’s early, but the Giants *might* be a good defensive team. They held Jax to just about the same offensive output as the Cowboys put up tonight. Then that same Jax offense exploded on NE today for nearly 500 yards. I think once Fred is back there’s a chance this offense will be good enough to win a lot of ballgames if this defense is for real. Assuming the playcalling is as good as it was tonight.

You will never beat good teams or win in the playoffs with a QB that can’t throw for more than 200 yards. I don’t care if it’s the QB, the scheme, or the play calling. It just will never work if the goal is to win a championship.

In addition to the below, I did see him throw a few throws tonight, that I did not think he could make. A tight timing route and he threaded the needle twice. Tight coverage, put it where it needed to be with confidence and authority. That is an improvement. The part he fails is in, still, is shifting back to his instincts to run outside the pocket, when stepping up is what he needed to do. He did that four times tonight, all four times, unnecessary, all four times, he had to throw the ball away. All four times, where times when a QB like Romo would have made a play.

1. Game manager
2. played a clean game
3. Nothing spectacular
4. Nothing horrid either
5. Made a few reads and strong arm passes
6. Still needs a lot of work, he's just average at best
7. Dak will never single handily win a game for this team like other QB's can
8. I like Dak, but he's just not the answer. He's a bus driver.

A QB like Romo would have switched back to his instincts got impatient and got picked off at a bad time and lost the game for us
