The playbook is perfect, that is why it hasn't changed in 10 years .

Coach play calling was perfect.

Blame the Qb .

Psrt of me thinks, Jones saw that Romo would not finish his contract, and the injury was perfect reason to elevate Dak, I also think that Witten left moreso because he saw that there was nothing on the offense and probably knew they were going to jettison Dez.
Jones wanted Romo to regain his starting position once he was healthy, it was Garrett and the others that did the ultimate Brutus on him.

SHEESE!,,,, ,,,I could see #4 has got that target zone between the ankles& knees of his recievers& usually WITHIN 3' to the left or to the right dialed in ,so he's obviously been putting in some offseason work,,,there:rolleyes:

Dink and dunk. Our offense never got into rhythm. Did we run a single play action play from under center?

Did Dak even attempt a throw 30+ yards down field to stretch the defense?

At least our defense held up for the most part. Plenty of blown assignments but we actually got pressure on the QB.

We have nobody but Dak this year. We are going to live and die by him. Have to see what happens. If he continues to flop I'll be ready to move on.

Exactly. Our backup is trash. And we have a developmental guy who is a rookie. No sense throwing him to the wolves.

Hopefully, the entire offense, along with Prescott, get things on track and on track pretty darn fast. The potential is certainly there for it to happen.

But this continual 'We are gonna draft a first round quarterback' mantra is laughable. It is like the events of 2016 are a dream.

Rookie quarterbacks do not replace franchise quarterbacks and have short careers as the replacement. Jones made a commitment. Some people on the outside looking in agreed with the commitment.

Prescott will be the featured quarterback for a number of years. He has the potential to live up to the hype. He has shown it. But being shortsighted will not change his longevity because his performance does not meet expectations outside of Jones'.

Maybe but people better start to come to realize the possibility Prescott is nothing but an average QB.

Three facts.

1. No rookie quarterback has competed in or won a championship in the history of the National Football League (the NFL was nearly 40 years old by the time the first Super Bowl was played).
2. Prescott did not lose the 2016 Packers divisional game.
3. Even Aaron Rodgers rode the bench behind a franchise quarterback.

Short sightedness is as short sightedness does.

And blindness is as blindness does.

I’ll still stick with him for now. If he doesn’t improve? Go with White, and get him the reps. I mean this offense? It’s the same old story....nothing’s changed from last year. Sloppy and undisciplined. Got to improve by next week, losses are huge in this league.

He's terrible and most likely will not receive a second contract as a starter in the league. He's a backup, IMO
Let's put a pin in it and check how things turn out.

Who knows?

I said Terrell Owens would not get into the Hall on the first-ballot because how I foresaw Board of Selectors would think of him. I 'think' I know how Jones' mind works (sometimes). Perhaps I will be wrong this time around.

He'll come back next week against the giants and everybody will be back on board with him. It's just the first game, and he didn't play enough in preseason. rah rah... and at the end of the year we will be watching the playoffs from home. lol

i have been a Cowboys fan for 40 years now and I didnt even get mad about todays game. Garrett, Dak and Linehan have pretty much wiped out my excitement for watching this team....I am disappointed I guess
That's funny, I have been one of the biggest fans of the Boys for a little longer than that and I also did not get mad today either. This team has just worn me down or it's the new found politics of the league that just turn me off I guess to where my "fandom" has surprisingly taken a big hit...Never ever thought that could happen.
