I cannot believe all this hand wringing about a 4 year 4th string guy who averages 9 rec 177 yards 1.5 TDs a year in the 2 years he received some playing time.

I like Miles ...... but there are a hundred guys like him in the NFL that have potential but never show it on the field.

Except he has shown it on the field. The coach and the qb love him.

He got sent to the bench for the chatterbox from detroit.

and what exactly are chatterbox's numbers?

Austin needs not only to be on this team, but on the field.

His 2 biggest plays as a Cowboy did not require him to catch the ball.

Like I said ..... I like the kid ...... and I think that if he was given the chance he could REALLY show something.

But you could say that about hundreds of guys in the NFL who are on the bench.

I would not break the bank on a pass interference attracting specialist.

No pet cats.

Pet cats? What?

He is no pet cat. He is a guy with the arrow pointing straight up. IN 07 he showed he had all the ability, he just needed to work on catching the ball.

He did, He caught everything thrown to him in the preseason and then fought threw a knee injury to get back.

His two biggest plays were plays he didnt catch the ball? Since when. He caught the ball last year. He would have made a huge game changing play against baltimore had romo not led him too much. And he made two huge plays against green bay this season.

I think you are confusing hurd with austin. Hurd is a guy with some ability but will never really be much more than he is.

Miles austin will be a very good player in this league for a long time. I hope it is here.

I was talking about the 2 pass interference penalties against GB in 2007 ..... Which I think are his biggest game changing plays to date in his career.

I do too ...... I just would not break the bank on him or be worried he could not be replaced.

Please do not get me wrong ..... I like Austin ..... just do not think he will ever be anymore than a number 3 ..... I also did not want them to give Crayton that big contract either ..... so its not like I am picking on Austin.

fair enough, but he made the two game changing plays to beat green bay this year on plays where he caught the ball.

ANd I can tell you he was open a bunch of times for big plays at the stadium this year and romo missed him.

Against the Commanders at home this year, on the drive where witten scored the first touchdown, austin got single coverage and whipped rogers and was gone for an easy throw and catch for about 45 yards. Romo got pressure in his face and had to throw it to bennet for like a 3 yard play.

He just got pushed off the field by chatterbox. Next year in camp I would give him every opportunity to take craytons job.

I'm tired of hearing about Miami. Parcells is not going to reak the bank for Austin anymore than Jerry would. Parcells doesn't break the bank for anyone other than Marco Rivera. Jason Ferguson earned his money and still is on that contract. Rivera was a perrennial pro bowler when he got his cheque from Parcy. Parcy won't ever outbid Jerry jones for anyone, he may drive the price up on purpose knowing he won't pull the trigger but he isn't getting sucked for a Miles Austin. If he does, Austin's gold then before we even know it.

A couple of million per and a second round pick isn't breaking the bank. He doesn't have to be signed to a mega deal like Rivera and Ferguson were.

All Parcells would have to do is match whatever tender placed on him and chances are we will let him walk.

If it means letting Austin go to keep TO, then cut TO.

I don't see why we can't keep Austin, however. He looked better last year than Roy Williams has looked in years.
