He is playing in a gimmicked out offense geared towards him and his specific skill set. Many of his throws are scripted/schemed or improvised.

Put him in Dallas with this offense and he is throwing dump offs and checkdowns in no time.

He is not Griffin, so you can't use Griffin insults for Cousins. That is the most nonsensical thing I've read about this season. Why would Gruden gear an offense to Cousins when he was hired to help Griffin? That makes no sense. Never mind the fact there is really nothing special about this offense. It's your typical WCO, nothing more and nothing less. Much less dynamic than Andy Reid's WCO or the many other variations being used today. Do you realize that in a WCO all plays have route tree and progressions? This isn't backyard football, every play has a "script" to follow that would enable it to be successful.

I was referring to Tyrod Taylor.

I don't think you understand them as much you think you do. First off unless you're looking at the All-22, or at the actual games, you can't tell if he's checking down because he's missing receivers or if there is really no one open. Once the receivers and tight ends run out of your tv screen, you don't know what was there unless there is a replay. And there is no replay on every play. You also don't know what the play called for. I read a blog that goes over his All-22 after every game, he's mostly checking down when WRs aren't open. He's rarely missing open WRs. Other times he is checking down to avoid a pass rusher. And this was the case last season, but Kirk would frequently get fooled by pre-snap disguised coverages and he needed to slow down his reads. He didn't do that last season and the turnovers mounted. This season he started out that way and then he began improving. His biggest weakness right now isn't turning the ball over, it's going off-script when a play is broken.

Yes, he occasionally will throw a bad pass. Eli threw a ton of bad passes yesterday and not only is he a starter, he is a two-time superbowl champion. Against New England, I watched Brady throw an awful pass directly to Perry Riley. All QBs throw bad passes, it's just the better ones learn from their mistakes and limit the amount of times it happens. Saying "he's been doing it through out his career" is debunked by the actual facts I provided.

He's been in the league 4 years. He's missed plenty of open receivers. There's s reason he's not being hyped up much. He's playing decent yes. Look at the first giants game. Underthrowm balls against them all day. Reed should of had a career day that day. Has he progressed some ? Sure but I doubt like most he will be anything more than a backup.

This is really terrible logic. Cousins hasn't been getting starter reps for 3 seasons. So mentioning how long he's been a Commander is pointless. And Kirk is almost guaranteed to be the starter for Washington going into next season at this point.

We all hope so he's the starter. Terrible logic? Cousins has been in that offense for almost 2 full seasons.. Matt Cassel just got here 7 weeks ago. Lol

What's better, winning the NFCE and being done in one playoff game or Top 5 draft pick? :lmao::lmao2:

5 weeks ago I said the Skins were the real competition in the division. I got laughed at. It is still an open question, but next Monday will tell.

If Dallas was healthy all year, the Cowboys would be 9-2 and the division would be over.

Washington isn't a real competition to anything. They're just the buzzards on the fence feasting on the carnage.

I think Cousins is ok but I think if the Skins want to win a superbowl you still need to find a future top 10 QB. Long term, I still think the Giants and even the Eagles are the more immediate threats for the next few years in what we hope are still Romo years. If Romo is not around, it won't matter because we are not winning anyway.

What I will give props to the Skins is when I look at new front offices, I look how they do in the middle to late round in the drafts and then also value free agent signings. I do not know all the skins draft picks but two so far stand out. Matt Jones and Crowder will be core players for the Skins. Jones has some fumble problems but he is a legit bell cow. Crowder is going to be a very good number 2 receiver. To get both of those guys after the second day of the draft is very good. It also appears they have done well in picking value free agents. A draft or two of some more late round hits and things can change quick.

Dallas has done ok in value free agents but it looks like this offseason was not very strong in that area. We seem to really struggle late in the draft. We have some solid picks but it has been a long time since we picked a Jay Ratliff. Most of the guys we do seem to find wind up being solid players but not much else.

This year has been a mess. No one could have predicted that 8 wins would win the division. Give the Skins credit for being the least terrible out of the bunch.

Nah
He'll be a free agent in two months. The Commanders will have to throw Tannehill money at him to keep him.

For that reason alone, we should root for Washington. Let them RG3 themselves all over again.

He will stay in DC for Vet min plus incentives.

Not a chance. He's about to get seriously paid.

Teams are DESPERATE for quarterbacks. They'll always overpay one that's available. There'll be some teams in serious competition for him, so his price will get driven up just like Tannehill, who got a $77 million extension.

The Jets, Bills, Texans, 49ers, Browns, and maybe a couple others will be competing with the Commanders for him.

The Broncos have the same situation with Osweiler.

Then one coach is doing right by the player he has, while the other is failing.

Since week 7, Cousins:

Ranked #1 in QB rating
#3 in Yards per attempt
#1 in completion percentage
#4 in fewest INTs
#11 in total TDs

Over that time, Skins are 3-2, with their two losses against the 10-1 Patriots and the 11-0 Panthers. On the road.

I'll take it.
