And that my Friend is exactly what Confidence does!

LOL.

Again, if you really want to believe that the defense was poor in 2015 because they saw McFadden playing TB and now will play great again because they see Elliott at TB, knock yourself out.

The defense will play greatly or poorly regardless of what Elliott does or does not do.

Well if we are going to play this game, let's do it fairly.

Do you want Emmitt Smith at TB and Wilcox at S or do you want Woodson at S and say Arien Foster at TB?
LOL...........Nice one.

How about if you have both DBs AND a pass rush? Fact of the matter is, we need Gregory to pan out. He looked good until his injury and now the suspension is another set back. If Gregory plays up to his talent level and Tapper and Collins bring quality depth to the rotation, then the pass rush is good enough.

You make a good point, but in that scenario, I think Claiborne, Carr, Scandrick and Church will all look a lot better.

That's according to you but not to the experts and the Cowboys.

You keep citing experts as if every single one agrees. That's false.

And the Cowboys are wrong as well if they believe that the difference between the 2014 and 2015 seasons was the defense was on the field too long. Actual numbers say otherwise.

I am about as close to being a pro scout as anyone on this forum. Henry was my second choice. Tapper,Collins will make this roster and next year we will have Jaylon

LOL.......Ok scout. Wow, so trapper and collins will make the roster? Impressive. And we will have Jaylon next year? Even more impressive. Sounds like an amazing draft. Talk about lame.

Actually my opinions are just as valid as anyone's .

DIssembling again? Your one sided opinion has the right to be said but it's not just as valid. There is such thing is a comprehensively informed position and you clearly are one sided.

Confirmation bias.

As I said, the 2014 season was an anomaly. They played over their heads. 2015 was a return to earth.

But if you want to believe the 2015 defense fell apart because they lacked the confidence in Darren McFadden and now will be re-invigorated by seeing Elliott at TB, have at it.
No they lost Confidence in themselves stop teams late in games just like we as fans did. They also lost confidence in the offense to score past the 2nd quarter or rally in the 4th. As did us fans

Assume they're both great picks.

Do you want Emmitt Smith or Darren Woodson?

Easy choice.

Werent you the guy telling me how great McFadden was and how our run game was just fine last year? I guess it was sooo good that we needed to use the 4th pick on a RB eh? Talk about a contradiction.

So you've never been on a team and had one side of the ball gain confidence from what the other side has done?

Yep, and you were one of the guys talking up McFadden. I guess you want to recant that statement seeing as though we needed to use the 4th pick to replace him?

But even if that were true, that says more about an offense that didn't have Romo or Bryant and less about the fact it was McFadden playing TB. Wouldn't you agree with that?

consider me laughing in your face that you are a scout. And laughing at your explanation that guys will do nothing more than make rosters and play in a year.

My point is that, given the context of this thread is about Elliott and his effect on the defense, that who is playing TB has little effect on the confidence of the defense.

The majority agreed with the pick and many brought up what I've been saying since the day Murray walked. Listen to the Cowboys presser after they picked Zeke they mentioned a lot of what I've been saying all along. Dude, you're just looking to argue by trying to make it appear that I'm saying the defense being on the field too long was the entire problem and that is totally false! Keep it straight and narrow and don't twist my comments.

Woah, wait a second. In the presser after picking a player they pumped the player up?

Unheard of!

Actually, I am not saying that at all. I am saying even putting partial blame on it's false. The stats clearly indicate otherwise. The defense was not on the field that much more in 2015 than 2014. That's just a simple fact born out by basic stats. So being on the field too long isn't the main problem, half the problem, or quarter of the problem.

To me, this was the most laughable line of the weekend. And to hear people buy that garbage is even more funny.

Now certainly keeping the defense off the field with a great run game is helping the team.

Its just another head scratching way for the Cowboys brass to justify ANOTHER offensive player with ANOTHER first round pick.

Taking an offensive player helps improve the defense? :lmao2:

Now I will agree it helps HIDE the defense, but it doesn't do squat to improve that side of the ball.

Fans need to wrap their head around one thing and one thing only. We will NEVER win a championship until this defense improves dramatically. Sure we can make the playoffs and have some winning seasons. And unless we spend some big money in FA over the next few years, I don't see it happening.

Yep, did you?

Yep, I get it completely. But being rested doesnt improve the talent on defense. The brass basically told you that by drafting zeke, the defense will be on the field less, that is how they are improved. Nothing to do with actually improving the play on defense. We have taken offensive players helping to improve the run game for 4 years with our first round picks? Our defense still sucks. Taking blue chip defensive players is how you really improve the D.

I understand what you're getting at. You want a blue chipper on defense. But, there are more than one way to improve the defense.

Having a back defenses respect and running more efficiently will improve the passing game that's what improved it in 2014. Romo led the league in passer rating because he had a great back to lean on and it opened up our passing game especially play action.

Romo led the league in passer rating because he was so effective when the running game wasn't even a factor -- on third-and-long, in the two-minute offense, with an empty backfield, etc. We were successful because we could pass even when teams knew we were passing. And we averaged more yards per pass play with Murray on the bench than we did when he was on the field.

As far as play-action passes, our pass offense was WORSE on play-action in 2014 (38.6 DVOA) than it was the year before (39.0 DVOA) with a bad running game, while it was MUCH better on non-play-action passes than the year before (39.1 DVOA, compared with 14.5 DVOA).

I know, you don't care about stats, blah blah blah. Keep ignoring the facts.
