Bros, I posted this within another thread but I don't want it buried.

Yes, I know our DTs are even worse but there's no hope for them. They have no talent. Our DEs on the other hand do and have been a ghost for over a month.

Over the last 5 games Micah, Lawrence, Armstrong, Fowler and Sam I Am Williams have combined for a grand total of 2 sacks.

Not only is that unacceptable but if it continues it makes a playoff run impossible. They have to get it corrected and get it corrected now.

Yup, this is the key to defeating to the Bucs. Our DEs need to wake up. Otherwise Brady will pick on #25, #26, #1 all game.

Totally agree with this. Having said last week Micah looked more like himself. Quinn has to take it up a notch and not be afraid to blitz when they aren’t getting it done. Parsons is deadly in stunts too and we haven’t seen that in awhile.

Lawrence has actually been our most consistent DE.

The key to beating Brady is up the middle…..

I think when Big Hank comes back to stabilize the run defense the DEs will eat more. Hard to help plug holes in the run D (due to poor DT play) and rush the passer.



Run D and pass rush is literally a symbiotic relationship.

I'm hearing that Anthony Rush is down to 390 lbs. Should be ready to contribute 5 plays a game soon. Keep the faith.

The whole defense has been playing like ***, but I agree with your assessment that the DE's have to step it up. They seem to be getting pressures, but not actual sacks. And Lawrence, while not getting sacks, has been the most disruptive and is a beast in the run game.

It doesn't get any easier...of the teams that we could face in the playoffs, none are an easy out. San Fran has a great defense and an offense that seems to not have missed a beat despite a lot of injuries. THe Packers are getting hot at the right time and we don't have an answer for Rodgers. Same with the Bucs, we haven't beat Brady so that isn't a great option. We likely won't have a shot at the Vikings or Giants unless something fluky happens. Likelihood is we are going to have to beat 3 teams we struggle against.

To quote Al Davis..."the quarterback must go down, and he must go down hard" we must control the defensive trenches if we are to advance in the playoffs. We need to pick up the intensity and production across the board. Football 101, stop the run and get after the quarterback.

True, but they have a ton of pressures and QB hits. That's just as important.

Micah is back there all game.

I just think QBs have decided to get it out quick no matter what.

If they don’t get a push against Brady we’re one and done. And with Brady it’s the inside pressure that gets to him. He’s so good at stepping up in the pocket or sliding left or right to buy time.

You're falling for that spin from Micah. Fwiw his coordinator disagrees w/ him about teams playing them differently.

I think the bigger issue is that this might be the most beat up unit on the team. Armstrong & Micah are dealing w/ multiple ailments. DLaw has been up and down since he broke his foot. Now Sam is dealing w/ the car crash after effects. This unit needs the rest versus the Commanders more than anyone.

I would like to see Parsons moved around more. He can get after the QB from the LB position as well.
