The DEs have to be better

We’re still getting a good amount of pressures but i think teams have adjusted by getting the ball out quick.

If we get the Bucs Brady is the king of getting the ball out quick. If the pass rush isn’t strong and Quinn doesn’t have a solid game plan he’ll shred us.

Bros, I posted this within another thread but I don't want it buried.

Yes, I know our DTs are even worse but there's no hope for them. They have no talent. Our DEs on the other hand do and have been a ghost for over a month.

Over the last 5 games Micah, Lawrence, Armstrong, Fowler and Sam I Am Williams have combined for a grand total of 2 sacks.

Not only is that unacceptable but if it continues it makes a playoff run impossible. They have to get it corrected and get it corrected now.

BROS???? (oh so you're hip now hmmm lol), ALL THEY'RE DOING NOW IS RUNNING UP THE FIELD, getting nowhere. Getting almost there and slipping or tripping over each other

I would like to see Parsons moved around more. He can get after the QB from the LB position as well.

Yet I made this post weeks ago and everyone was clueless!! We rush him every game in the same place, let's exploit matchups, why have him go against the better tackle have him go up against both, let him play lb and rush as an lb

Yup, this is the key to defeating to the Bucs. Our DEs need to wake up. Otherwise Brady will pick on #25, #26, #1 all game.
The problem with Brady is that he gets the ball out of his hands quick.

He's smart. He thinks quick, he makes quick decisions, he gets rid of the ball quick. That helps his OL and keeps the pass rush in check.

It also puts more pressure on the DBs. Give those WRs a cushion and they'll take 4-5 yard pass every down until they get into the end zone. (Brady avg is 6.4)

This is a game where being less aggressive might benefit Dallas. Basically watching Brady and aiming to knock down/deflect passes might be at least one strategy to try.

Aggression could be the weakness vs a QB like Brady unless the pressure is faster than him (which it may not be).

Quinn's got a tough task ahead of him

Seriously!!! What the hell happened to Armstrong, Williams, Fowler? Lawrence only really had one good sack year, but he’s capable, he needs to pick it up.

True, but they have a ton of pressures and QB hits. That's just as important.

Micah is back there all game.

I just think QBs have decided to get it out quick no matter what.

You obviously didn't look and just made that up. Pressures and hits are down too. Micah, the guy who is "back there all game" is on pace for less QB hits than he had his rookie year.

We've got a pass rush problem.

DTs will get a little less hopeless if/when Hankins comes back. But even with him, they're just inadequate for a playoff run.

Micah is a little broken down. But what's up with the rest of the DEs? Are they similarly broken down by a season of pass rushing from DT positions?

DLaw - the bazillion dollar man has had 6 sacks all season. And yet again, true to the pattern, he's fading in the back half of the season. Last 4 games, 0 sacks, 1 QB hit. Even on a good week, we're only getting around 65% snaps out of him. PFF loves him, but that's not the War Daddy we were promised.

Armstrong too. Last 4, 0 sacks, 1 QB hit.
Micah. Last 4, 1 sack, 0 hits.

Maybe DE rushmen just can't last a whole season. Maybe the secret to the Giants in 2007 was that their dline was hurt most of the season and came back just in time for the playoffs.

Maybe DTs are a real need after all.
Who knew?

The biggest problem with the DE is maintaining edge responsibility on running plays. Too many times they get caught up field looking for a sack that they have no chance of making.

Made a thread about this a few days back, I have no idea why they’ve faded so much. We go 4 deep there’s no reason they are all gassed.

Not sure which games you have been watching but they barely gotten any pressure on the quarterback as of late.

Lawrence has generally run out of gas in the back half of seasons. The main exception is 2015, where he was nothing in the first half of the season, and flipped the switch in the back half of the season, and had a great December.
Other seasons where he was injured in the first half of the season, he has a pretty good back half.
A half season player.

The quick passing game and quick sets are also contributing to their decline. AB going down is a bigger issue than anticipated. As much as I hate pulling Parsons away from the edge I think he needs to be moved back to MLB. At least until 3rd down, so he can assist coverage underneath and disrupt this quick passing attack. They can roll safety help to LCB side and allow that corner to play aggressive.
We need the QB to hold the ball and slow the ground game. The LION in the middle will make it happen.

Honestly, your posts are too good to be buried in any thread. We need a separate Risen Star Zone at the very top.

QBs have also been able to step up in the pocket because none of the DT are in their face

Teams are game planning around the DE’s. Quick passes, rollouts and focusing on the run. Quinn needs to adjust.

valid point, Brady had too much time behind his OL y’day , he was leisurely surveying and waiting for Wrs to get separation and boom.

He'll put up 30 plus points on us if we allow him a comfortable pocket.

And our 40 million dollar fraud won't out score him.
