Am I grasping here or if we beat the jags and the Eagles lose to the Bears would we be playing for first place in the division on Christmas Eve.

My thoughts are if we would win on Christmas Eve we would have first place in division by way of the Eagles having lost to two teams in their division if that is the proper tiebreaker.

It's a huge ask to expect the Bears to beat them, we also would have to win out in this scenario, which might be more difficult. Could see them losing this week.

This is correct. Assuming we win out (Includes beating Philly), we need the Eagles to drop 1 additional game and we take the 1 seed.

Philly can also clinch the 1 seed Christmas Eve by beating us and handling the Bears Sunday.

I don't think it is grasping. Philly will be favored in all their games but being a favored does not ensure a win. They were clearly favored vs Washington. Things change quick in the NFL.

We'll end up between 12-5 and 10-7 but we'll make the post season.

Precisely how I feel. Even if we somehow manage to nab the lead in the division, I don’t see Dallas winning out

How sweet it would be for this to play out this way.

Stranger things have definitely occured.

We're not winning the division. It's not even worth pondering.

At this point, the team needs to focus on making the playoffs at all.

Yeah, I am pretty much thinking we do not win the division. However I am still think there is that far outside possibility. Stranger things happened before.
Agree, they just need to focus on improving and eliminating the mental mistakes.

Well this might be one instance where the league might help us out and the Eagles may have to fall on the sword in Chicago.

The viewing audience for this game is already going to be tremendous but if it can be billed as a game for first place in the division I could see the league manipulating things in Chicago to make that happen if it would enhance the viewing audience

Even though the Eagles just dismantled the Giants, the Giants were beat up and will likely be playing for their postseason lives week 18. A desperate team is no gimme.

Stranger things have certainly happened in the NFL. A lot can change in a month in a week to week league.
