There not invincible and rather lucky should have 4 losses. Injuries can happen anytime and derailing them look what happened to the 49ers. It ain’t over till it’s over. They can easily lose to Buffalo and the 49ers.

In that scenario, we'd still have to win out or only lose to Detroit on top of beating Philly ourselves.

Basically here's the scenario assuming the Eagles won't do something dumb and lose to the Giants.

- We have to beat Philly in a few weeks, obviously.
- Philly needs to lose at least two of these games - San Fran, Seattle, Cards, Buffalo
- Assuming they lose two of those games, we have to go 7-0 or 6-1 with the only loss to Detroit.

If we win out and Philly loses to us and then two of those games, we'd finish a game clear of them.

If we lose to Detroit only, and Philly loses to us and 2 of those 4 games, we'd win the division because we'd win the common games tiebreaker (losses to only San Fran and Cards, where as the Eagles would have lost to the Jets and then two more games).

Put your focus in Detroit. Hope they win the #1 seed.

Then hope Philly gets the #2 seed with San Fran at #3.

That way as the #5 seed, we get the worst division winner, then if the seeds hold, we go to Detroit and dont have to see Philly or San Fran until the NFCCG. On the flipside, if there is an upset in one of the other WC games, we'd likely have to go to Philly in the divisional round, which I would much prefer than having to play at San Fran in the divisional round.
Contrary to other posters I think the Lions have a hard run in. Unlikely Vikings can catch them (but they still have to play them twice), last 4 games look tough

Dont forget, common games is the tiebreaker BEFORE conference record. It would be massively helpful if they lost the next three - Buffalo, 49ers, us. hahahahahaha.
In the presented scenario common games is the same. In fact it is hard for common games to, realistically, not be the same if they have the same record.

It's not hard at all.

And in his scenario, we'd lose the division at 14-3 with the same common games record.

Only way we’re winning the division now is if Philly gets hit hard with injuries and I can’t bring myself to hope for that yet…but I’m getting close

Um how would they have the same conference record? In this scenario they have lost to: Jets Cowboys and 49ers. Cowboys have lost to: Cardinals, Eagles, and 49ers. The conference record obviously favors Eagles in that scenario.

Forgot about the Cards game...either way, we still have a chance. Plus, I forgot that the Eagles play the Bills.

Absolutely, it is. Seven games left in a 17 week season, and we are only two behind. They are certainly beatable, they have been lucky. Their +/_ point total is pathetic for the best record in the NFL We should have beaten them, the Chiefs should have beaten them, the Commanders should have beaten them, with luck the law of averages tends to win out. Plus, employing a running QB always increases your chances of your season going sideways in heartbeat

Thank you for not being a defeatist.

Exactly, and you never know. Who'd have thought that their one loss so far this season would come at the hands of Zach Wilson and the Jets?

If we can't win the division, then yes, I'd want Detroit to get the 1 seed. That said, I'm not ready to say the division is done.

I forgot about that tiebreaker. So yes, if they lose the next 3 and we win out, then the advantage might swing back to us.

The division is not lost yet. I know it looks bleak, but I don't think the division is settled yet. The Eagles still have to play SFO and us (along with Seattle prior to us). If they lose both games to us and SFO, then I think we can still win the division if we are level with them on record. They'd be level with us on conference and division losses in that situation. It'd go down to some very deep tiebreakers, but, assuming we win all of our remaining games, and they lose two of the next three games (including against us), then I think the division is still possible for us to win. Will it be easy? No. But is it possible? Yes
Yes. Cowboys have a shot at NFC East. Philly looking dead ahead at 49ers, Seattle and the Cowboys. Ripe with possibility.
Parcells once said (when the season was 16 games) that around Thanksgiving week, you have a sense who the tournament teams will be. Not sure I buy that. The final game (17) still results with either a "rest your starters" kind of thing, or an absolute dogfight to get a playoff seed.

Well, and it's still one game at a time. Who knows what can happen? The point is. The Eagles haven't won the division yet, and we still have a chance until either the Cowboys or Eagles officially clinch the division.

It's not over yet. I agree.

I remember years ago....a 10-0 Jets team went 0-6 down the stretch and didn't make the playoffs...if memory serves.

That was a big game for the Eagles...a draining game. They are ripe this week

It is hard to bring that intensity every week.

Also rooting that the Giants have caught lightening in a bottle.....lol
