Also rooting that the Giants have caught lightening in a bottle.....lol
Not at all unusual for a team to win when they start a raw rookie after their starter either goes out with an injury or is benched.

But usually, they come crashing back to Earth after that. Teams they play aren't expecting to be going up against the rookie, they have litte or no idea how the new guy will play and usually also no NFL game film on them. And with a rookie playing, that team will usually change up their game plan to suit the rookie, and go against at least some of their tendencies. But after seeing the rookie, the next team will be ready.

So I don't expect anything out of the Giants, though it's the NFL, you never know for sure....

It's not over yet. I agree.

I remember years ago....a 10-0 Jets team went 0-6 down the stretch and didn't make the playoffs...if memory serves.

That was a big game for the Eagles...a draining game. They are ripe this week

It is hard to bring that intensity every week.

Also rooting that the Giants have caught lightening in a bottle.....lol

That'd be great if they can get one against Philly lol.

After the Niners blew us out, everybody said they are going to the SB. Nobody would have predicted they would lose 3 straight to the Browns, Vikings and the Bengals at that time. Anything can happen with 7 games left in the season.

It's not being a defeatist, it's being a realist when you look at the schedules, etc.

Even if we and the 49ers beat the Eagles, we'd still have to win out, which seems how likely?
Seriously, I think the Cowboys have a great chance of winning out.

Which team on the remaining schedule are you afraid of? (Aside from the one that plays on natural grass in Florida? :) )

Miami will be tough, but they have yet to beat a good team.

We screwed the pooch when we lost to the Cardinals. Barring some significant injuries or unexpected losses by the Eagles, the probability of us winning the division at this point is extremely low. Even if we go 6-1 over our last seven games - which would be amazing - the Eagles would have to lose a minimum of three games. I don't see that happening. Our best hope is to beat the Seahawks in order to preserve that 5th seeding. I see two best possible scenarios. First, Detroit wins the top seed. We win the wild card round against the NFC South division winner, then play at Detroit, while the Eagles and the 49ers play against each other. Second best scenario: Philly wins top seed, we play the NFC South division winner; in the next round we visit Philadelphia and pick up the win, and then hope that the Lions upset the 49ers. I think any playoff scenario whereby we play the 49ers is not in our favor - they seem to have our number.

True, but you don't want to have to depend on other teams losing so you can back into the playoffs or a division title or home field advantage.

I remember back in the 80's (if memory serves on the era) the Cowboys came into the last game of the season against the Eagles in the situation where if Dallas beat the Eagles by 25 or more points, then they would win the division, but if they lost the game or won by less than 25 pts, they would be out of the playoffs entirely.

Well at halftime it was Dallas 35, Eagles 10. But Dallas only scored like 10 more points in the second half and the Eagles like 20, so even though Dallas won the game, they were out of the playoffs.

You want to control your own destiny if possible...

Call it being "clutch" or lucky, but the Eagles just find ways to win.

Dropped passes, fumbles that are ALL magically recovered by them, terrible officiating that favors them...

Actually, never mind. It's luck. Man, I hate those mother******s.

who cares if we dont win the division. Once the playoffs begin its whoever is playing the best. If we can't go in somewhere and win then we dont deserve to move on. Then you can cry on another level. I myself aint concerned with it yet. we still have 7 more games that we can win

we proved we can compete IN philly just have to finish the job. If not well I'll find something else to entertain me.

Last season the Eagles went to the Super Bowl. However, they almost lost the #1 seeding when the 6-9 Saints beat them. They were lucky when the Packers beat the Vikings.

Of course it is not lost yet, but I expect the Eagles to beat the 49ers. And probably everyone else on their schedule, except maybe the Cowboys. If they can beat the Chiefs at Arrowhead, they can beat anyone. The strength of their offensive and defensive lines is impressive.

But the Cowboys just need to make the playoffs and once they get there if they can get hot, they can beat anyone.

And btw, watch out for the Lions. They are getting more and more confident with every win. They remind me of the 1990s Cowboys.

I don’t even think the situation is bleak. So much can happen in the next few weeks. Philly is a really good team. I don’t think they are exceptional and against good comp, their win/loss is a toss up. If Dallas holds serve, they will catch them but they have to hold serve starting Thursday. This is a better team when they chase.
