Put your focus in Detroit. Hope they win the #1 seed.

Then hope Philly gets the #2 seed with San Fran at #3.

That way as the #5 seed, we get the worst division winner, then if the seeds hold, we go to Detroit and dont have to see Philly or San Fran until the NFCCG. On the flipside, if there is an upset in one of the other WC games, we'd likely have to go to Philly in the divisional round, which I would much prefer than having to play at San Fran in the divisional round.
This is a best case scenario to me as well.

It's over.

Even for your scenario to play out, it's likely we'd have to go undefeated the rest of the way. It's not happening. Choking at the end against Philly and/or the Cards game is gonna cook us.
Cards game it is , no business to lose that. Losing to Filthy in Philly is expected though we had the chance to pull it.

IMO factoring in their remaining schedules and performance to date, I suspect it is much more likely that PHI wins the division two games clear of Dallas than the Cowboys' eking out a tiebreak division championship.

Keep drinking your pablum my friend. The season was lost weeks ago.
Uh aren't the Cowboys 7-3? This statement looks like something from a Giants or Commanders fan forum.

If Dallas beats both the Commanders and Seahawks (very possible) and the Eagles lose at least one of their next two to Buffalo and San Fran (again very possible), the Cowboys can pull into a tie with them by winning the Dec. 10 game at home.

I don’t even think the situation is bleak. So much can happen in the next few weeks. Philly is a really good team. I don’t think they are exceptional and against good comp, their win/loss is a toss up. If Dallas holds serve, they will catch them but they have to hold serve starting Thursday. This is a better team when they chase.
Eagles are 4-0 against the Vikings, Dolphins, Cowboys and Chiefs (at Arrowhead). Supposedly quality teams... Who have the Cowboys beaten that has a winning record? No one.

It looks like the Cowboys will be favored over the Eagles when they play. The Cowboys are good enough to beat any team.

It's not being a defeatist, it's being a realist when you look at the schedules, etc.

Even if we and the 49ers beat the Eagles, we'd still have to win out, which seems how likely?

If you want some glimmer of hope to hold onto here, pray the Bills can figure out how to win in Philly next weekend.
There are seven games left, we are two games behind yet we have to win out and there is no chance, whatsoever that they lose another game besides us the 49ers? I don't get it. Do you watch the NFL a lot?

They lost to the freakin' JETS!!!!! But, no way in heck will they lose another game except maybe to us and the 49ers. Any given Sunday!

Is it likely for us to win the division - probably not, will it take a miracle? Absolutely not!

Who said anything about the season? I'm talking about the division. Besides, if we play Philly in the playoffs, I think we can do to them what the Giants did to us in 2007.
Do you hear yourself and all the laughing going on. The internet is speaking to you and you should listen.

Any team can lose any game. We have no idea what players will be out 30 days from now.

So many of you on this board:
In 1777 - Oh no! The British have taken New York and Philadelphia with Washington's army starving in Valley Forge - time to surrender!!! We can't win! The British are undefeated! Might as well give up!!
In 1941 - Oh Crap! The Germans have taken most of Europe and look unbeatable! Japan just destroyed the Pacific fleet at Pearl Harbor - Oh well, we can't win, might as well begin learning Japanese or German!! Time to be "realists" Ugh.
