The Eagles win today hurts more than most seem to realize

The Eagles now only have three games left on their schedule (other than Dallas) that they have a realistic chance of losing. It's their next 3, Chicago, NE and Seattle and ALL are at home. Chicago's offense is inept right now and the Seahawks offense tends to go into a shell on the road. Even if they lose ALL THREE, they're going to be 7-7 when they see us again and close the year out against the Giants.

Barring a huge upset, the Eagles worst case scenario right now is 8-8 and that's IF they lose to us. The problem is we only have two games the rest of the way (the Giants and Commanders) you can say we absolutely SHOULD win. And by the time we face Phill again, we will probably be 8-6 at best. And Philly is already locked in with a better head to head record due to beating both the Jets and Packers.

The Eagles winning today pretty much guarantees that, barring them losing a game as a huge favorite or us going on an unexpected rampage through our schedule, the game in Philly will be for the division title.

If you have to hope for other teams to lose in order to make the playoffs, then you don't deserve to be in the playoffs.

Backdoor scenarios are for losing teams. Win the games you're supposed to win and you don't have to worry about if this team beats this team and we beat this team, we'll get in.
We had a golden opportunity to be 7-0 and we lost that advantage.
I'm not going through the mental gymnastics. If we're good enough to win the NFC East, we will win.
If we're not, we won't. Simple … as … that.

If we have to beat the Eagles in Philly, we will do it, don't worry.

Further, we are a better team than the Vikings, Bills and Lions. All these three games are AT OUR HOME, too. We got the Rams at home as well after a 10 day rest, I believe. If the Cowboys can somehow clog the run, they are set to beat all of these teams.

Why do people keep saying that we're better than the Vikings? Or that we will beat the Vikings because it's at home? Are you guys watching football games this year?

They have serious weapons on offense, Theilen and Diggs are both great not to mention one of this years best RBs Dalvin Cook (don't forget we don't stop the run very well) plus a super tough defense to go with it.
They run a ball control offense that can make big plays at any moment and an attacking D that gets to the QB and can cover well.
It will be extremely tough for us to beat them, regardless of where it's played.

I do think we can possibly win that game, but only if we play perfect in all 3 phases, otherwise forget about it.
The Lions are a tough team and it will not be easy to beat them.
The Bills D is no joke.
The Rams are stacked and still very good.

I think we'll be damn lucky to win 2 of these 4 games.

which team?

the one that wins, or the one that can't beat the winless?

when your team is a jeckyl and hyde, faith isn't easy to give.
Blah Blah Blah... if faith is not your strong point then enjoy the roller coaster of your own emotions.

Any injuries whatsover, and this offense is toast. That seems to be the fact of the matter.

That's why I don't think Dallas is going to win the division. I hope I'm wrong.

With what you know about the history of the Cowboys under Garrett, this team needs pressure to win. They need the Eagles pushing them right up to that game in PHL in December for the Cowboys to have to fight to win it. And they don't need the bye, they have to play even if that means <100% players.

Right now, the Cowboys and the Eagles control their own destiny and if the Cowboys can't handle MIN, CHI, DET, LAR and the rematch with the Eagles, they don't deserve to be in the playoffs. Most likely, the only playoff team form the East will be the division winner and that is still very much in doubt.

and over the last decade, what has your faith returned to you?

at this point i'll forgo the potential discussion and just move on. blah blah blah and the like.

Didn't hurt me at all. Cowboys > than Eagles, Giants, Commanders, Bears, Bills, Lions....and capable of beating the Vikings and Rams. I like playing a tough 2nd half to gear up for the playoffs. I'm not worried about the Eagles schedule. If we crap the bed, that's on us.

We can only take care of our own business.

The Bills are the worst 5-2 in the league.

I never said anything about me having faith in the team the last decade so stop being so presumptuous, I'm just talking about 2019. If faith is not your thing then enjoy your emotional rollercoaster.

If the Cowboys are rolling into the end of the season around 0.500 and are worried about beating the Eagles, does it really matter?

If anything, it might behoove Dallas in the long term to lose, miss the playoffs, get Garrett fired and get a better draft pick if you are in that position. Personally, I hope that Dallas puts it together and is so far in front of Philly that it doesn't matter. Barely squeaking into the playoffs and getting bounced early isn't something I'm really enamored with.

You worry too much. I have the Eagles beating us in December, but us still winning the division unless they get healthy, and catch fire.

We control our own destiny. We have no else to blame if we fail.

Either the team is good enough or they are not. What any other team does or doesn't do really will not change that.

Beat the team this week. Then the team next week. Rinse and repeat and it takes care of itself.

Or sit around waiting for the other teams to shoot themselves in the foot, and find out if you do get to the tourney, that you couldn't beat a 2A high school football team.

As much as I despise this - Just win, baby!
