The Fowler offsides call. Was this a legal play?

You originally said this team which isn't a team from the past and this team only has 2 losses. You don't think that they have good coaches?

This team means the Cowboys. Last time I checked they were the Cowboys last year too.

And no, I don’t think we have a great staff. I think the OC is a bit overrated. They should have upgraded the OL coach. Quinn is a quality DC. McCarthy is a middling HC.

Any quick abrupt movement by a single offensive player,

Finish that sentence……. That simulates the start of a snap.

Turning one’s head does not simulate the start of a snap. Again, watch a bunch of NFL games this weekend and you will see OL turn their head and they won’t get penalties.

Don't know why you are mad at Fowler, when the offensive lineman committed a false start, pure and simple.
I watched again, and the guy in front of fowler does turn his head prior, so that may be a false start.

It was a full and abrupt head turn right at the planned time. He turned his head from looking at the ball to looking to his left (fully) right when Hurts did the hard count.
Yep it’s all three at once to draw the flag. The head, the motion, and the hard count simultaneously. Refs can’t see all at once and just call the defender like they did Ware for years. Dude had the best get off in NFL history but got beaten down by the refs calling him offsides.

I think it's reasonable to connect a sudden movement with the start of the play, yes it does happen when the play starts, so it's fair game. I've not seen OL quickly, abruptly move their head routinely before the ball moves, without penalty. That, according the rule book should be called!

Watch it at full speed, you'll see how it qualifies as "quick and abrupt" movement.

Look at the 2:00 minute mark to see how sudden it was.

The fact that was 4th down and the Eagles scored after that play would have been tragic for Fowler if the Cowboys scored once more and wound up losing by two or three points.

The fun thing is that 3rd and 12 they didn’t even bother running a route for the first down because their QB can’t throw. I’m sure they’ll go undefeated and no one will figure out their gimmick offense despite the entire history of the NFL.

i did, and they both seemed to move at the same time. but could be fowler moved 1st.
But here is the deal mike or dan should have told their guys that it might be fake so dont jump offsides.
I dont think they did because fowler was dancing around and moving closer and jumped at first sign the ball "might" be snapped.
So that is on him and the coaches.
Cowboys made a lot of dumb mistakes in that game and that comes back to how they are coached.
