GREAT HANDS!! . Im not saying anything new here but of course after hearing Jerry speech about Stephen, I know the future of this team is great hands. Thank God for Stephen. I have the utmost confidence in the future of this team with him at his position now and in the future when he completely takes over.

That a truth? He'll be more intensely involved, which was part of the message. Only thing now, he has a group of people he has confidence in listening to and not just a Jimmy Johnson.

Clearly Stephen has been making some pretty good decisions lately. The fortunes of the Cowboys are headed in the right direction. Unless of course you think Jerry is still calling all the shots and the team is heading straight to the depths of hell. Yes those people are still around.

Our fortunes appear much better now that Dak fell into our lap assuming he is our future for the next era.

Where would we be if we were still counting on Romo with nothing but a great OL and RB?

Like there was this great plan at work . No, we only begin making drafting OL a priority in the draft when we realized the beating Romo was taking trying to prolong his career and stumbled onto a great running game with Murray trying to protect Romo while he was recovering .

Drafting Zeke was only after we learned it wasn't just our OL and needing a more talented RB like Murray who we let get away because we thought anyone could run behind it.

Then throw in all of the poor risk taken on either injured or problem players in draft which has wasted years prolonging the process in building a defense which could have taken Romo to a Super Bowl.

No, last year we were a lucked out 4th round pick from another 4-12 season. And it's still left to be seen if there still aren't some concerns ahead with his passing ability. And that's assuming Zeke won't be suspended or have more problems ahead.

The culture is still here regardless if Jerry is receiving a greater influence . We saw that last year again how the season finished even with all of the excitement and momentum we had.

Our defense is still suspect even though we're hopeful a more focused in draft help address it. But nothing proven yet. I see a powerful running game that can take us to the playoffs but a defense that can't pressure elite QB's.

And the way last year finished even with the excitement of Daks run there are many concerns with how defenses slowed us without a greater downfield passing attack we lost with a more prolific passer like Romo when he was healthy which he illustrated in his very brief return.

And we want to credit all of this to some master plan that Jerry is less involved with. Lol

We can be excited and hopeful with the prospects without crediting that there was some master plan in place that didn't include Jerry.

It doesn't have to be one or the other extremes.

We could be going in a better direction with Jerry still calling the shots which includes surrounding himself with greater influence like we've seen before with Jerry.

I'd be curious to hear Jerry's response that the improved direction or apparent better looking fortune of this team revolves around less input and involvement from him or someone else calling the shots?

Stephen's had the benefit of watching his father's successes and failures.

He also appears to be less burdened by the need for attention, which may be a factor in personnel acquisition.

With Stephen calling the shots, I wonder if there'll be as many Greg Hardy's, Terrell Owens', or Deion Sanders'.

I have the "utmost confidence" in the future of this team when it's handed off to a guy whose been heading our personnel during this entire 20 years of mediocrity.

Can't wait! Go Cowboys!

Stephen has been a part of the status quo here all along with Jerry.

The difference and greater influence is Jason Garrett. And Will McClay.

Stephens greatest influence might be in his allegiance with Jason which offers Garrett support when trying to influence Jerry's instincts.

And when Jerry named Garrett " the future of the Dallas Cowboys" is looking like the 2nd best decision he's made in football operations.

When did the Drafts start making more sense and begin hitting beyond the first round? 2011

When did Garrett become HC?
2011

When did we start making better decisions with the Cap?
2011

All coeincidences im sure? It's sure not looking like it from the COY. Only the 3rd in Cowboys history. Pretty good company but for some reason he isn't receiving the love from all fans?
Wonder why???

That is revising history. Murray left, the Cowboys didn't let him get away.
Incorrect sir. They let him get away. They didn't offer him a contract that was a serious offer to remain. He wanted to stay so bad he bought a billboard to say goodbye and still hangs out with Romo and Witten.

No, we made a money or cap decision choosing Dez over Murray because we thought we could replace him easily with our OL.
