The Garrett bashing is trite, tired, and lacking in truth

Coaching doesn't matter to a lot of,people on here.

Honestly.. I have no clue what the guy offers on game day.

A completely Romo dependent coaching staff.

Same for all teams.

What a fun read. I guess I could take some of that medicine and stop referring to them overall as stupid coaches but some of the compartmentalized decisions that they make tends to make me blow my lid. I'll refer to it once more.

Putting Christine Michael in on that crucial 3rd & 1 and then actually handing the ball off to him. My 94 year old grandmother called me just before they ran that play and said "sonny, your Dumb Cowboys are about to run that up the gut". She saw it. Helen Keller saw it. My sources say that Ray Charles & Stevie Wonder were both on a conference call pointing at their screens & laughing their butts off as soon as Michael went trotting in.

Little things like that make me feel as though our coaches are not coaching from the same sheet of music. That all said, frustration tends to dominate the brain matter during the days immediately following the type of loss we endured this past Sunday.

I'm going to try to curtail my generalization of Garrett & the staff thanks wholly to your fantastic read. It's a process you know...

The whole New Orleans and Atlanta gameplan is just gutless football.

Play not to lose... And lose...

Had they gone all out like Romo was there, they'd have been down by 30 by halftime. It worked as well as it could have with that QB and all those defensive players out.

And so far we half seen no winning, just escuses for his 8-8 seasons and near-playoffs and near wins in playoffs.
There come a time when we in the sewing circle just half to look up and say whaaa?

Worst defense in Cowboys franchise history just two short years ago. Old, tired players when Garrett took over. No more.

True ultimately all coaches are judged by wins and loses. However we are in week 5 of a very difficult season injury wise the season has a ways to go. Right now people are expecting last years team minus Romo, Dez and a very strong run game, until we can start getting players back Dallas will have to fight for everything they get and that is not just offense but as a team.

The Cowboys are in first place. You'd never know it.

Long, long way to go, and other teams have injuries headed their way, too.

I don't think fans understand exactly what has happened with the Cowboys. We've lost potentially our best DE (Hardy), our best rookie DE (Gregory), our best linebacker (Ro), our best corner (Scandrick), our franchise QB (Romo), one of the best receivers in the game (Dez) and the league leading rusher (DeMarco Murray).

Let's put this in perspective.

Imagine if the 90s Cowboys lost Haley, Tolbert, Ken Norton, Kevin Smith, Aikman, Irvin and Smith.

Imagine if the 70s Steelers lost Mean Joe Green, Jack Lambert, Mel Blount, Terry Bradshaw, Lynn Swann and Franco Harris.

Imagine if the 90s Bills lost Bruce Smith, Cornelius Bennett, Nate Odoms, Jim Kelly, Andre Reed and Thurman Thomas.

Imagine if the current Packers lost Aaron Rodgers, Jordy Nelson, Eddie Lacy, Clay Matthews and Sam Shield.

Would anyone be focusing on the coaches of those teams if they were doing badly with all those injuries?

2. "The coaches don't know how to make halftime adjustments" - There is no such thing as halftime adjustments.
Good post overall, however I take exception to this one.
Check the Atlanta game as a prime example - First half we were killing them with short passes out of the backfield and off tackle runs. Second half, Atlanta completely shut these plays down and we could not move the ball. We had no offensive answer or secondary plan to combat their defensive adjustments and kept trying the same things over and over with no success even after we we're shut down.
Atlanta also made offensive adjustments for their run game and to get Julio involved with cross routes. We just sat there defensively and took it with no help or adjustments and paid the price.
OK so that said, I don't know when Atlanta changed their game plan (before, during or after the half) but they did adjust and we did not, which resulted in a total loss the 2nd half. Just saying.

Maybe, but both games were there for the taking and we did the run and punt instead of going for the win.

What do we have to lose exactly?

I watched Weeden drive us 90 yards down the field from the spread.. Why are we not trying that throughout the game instead of run and punt.

Your right and have wins over 2 division rivals which right now is significant. Cowboys will get these players back, we just got 2 big players on the defensive side. Speculation is Lee will be back this week and possibly Gregory. After this game we get the bye there is a chance to get Bryant back. Meantime I have seen nothing from the rest of the NFC East to make me feel someone is going to run away with the division.

You're right... But all Atlanta did was sell out on the run on run downs and the pass on pass downs.

They expected us to be predictable and we obliged them and played right into their hands.

All teams half injuries. All teams fight for ever thing they get. Most teams try not just as a offense but as a team. So, all in all, Ah, ah don't rightly know what to say to this.

Catch17 better be careful with all that objectivity.

Cheerlead or get outta the way!

I'm not ever going to Pom pom this staff until they actually do something that starts making a difference.

Best thing I've seen them do this year was hit Dunbar and Beasley over and over in the Giants game when they loaded the box on us..

I guess those plays were just a little too advanced for our basic offense and we have scrapped them and decided it's best to just run into a wall every play.

Garrett, Monday - Saturday I applaud... The crap I see on Sunday's though is just middle school football.

We might lose every game without Romo.. That's how dependent we are of him...

Looking around the NFL not every team nor most teams are dealing with injuries to starting QB as well as one of the top WR in the entire NFL, missing as many player as we have on defense.

Dallas is still out there to win and Garrett will be judge as all coaches are, however most sensible people will do so based on the season not 2 games. There was no doubt things would alter when playing a backup QB and not having a top weapon like Dez. Hell I watched SB caliber team like the Cowboys not win when Emmitt Smith was out of the game. 1 player just 1 player and yet the mighty Johnson could not win and Garrett is getting this crap from a fan base when the QB is out, the WR is out and top players on the defense are out?
