Lol, wut? By what measure?

By present value measurement. Seen Atkins in action this year? Is he in playing shape? Does he know the Cowboy playbook and terminology? Does he have the stunt timing down with the other DL?

LOL, yeah, don’t think so.

I've liked what I've seen from Osi, but dude is still an undersized 3rd round rookie. This is not the kind of player you bank on as a primary inside pass rusher, especially in this scheme where the 3T is so vital.

Osi is the guy you have rotate in and get pleasantly surprised if he ends up being capable of handling more and more snaps.

Have you seen Watkins this year? He's been in camp, knows the scheme, knows the system and he's still not very good.

LOL.

A few of us were correct. Geno Atkins is no good and not of interest for the Cowboys. Glad the Cowboys learned their lesson from last year's debacle of overpaid, over-the-hill, runned down, useless veteran free agents.

Yeah they sure learned. They had some of the worst DT play in the league in 2020.

So what did they do? Spend a 3rd round pick on a DT and bring in more JAGS like Urban and Watkins.

But yeah, they learned. Hahaha.

Well I don't know much about football, but why has only 1 team reached out to the guy? Surely if others thought he had something left in the tank he would have a conga line of interest?

Yeah, instead we've learned to rely on players like Tristan Hill.

Great plan Cotton, let's see how it works out.

LOL.

Carlos Watkins. He's a JAG who probably will make the 53. Brent Urban? He's been a non factor in camp. Justin Hamilton might make the 53 if Hill isn't ready. You really arguing you'd rather have Justin Hamilton than Geno Atkins?

Urban has been playing well. Watkins looked pretty good so far. I’d rather have a young player like Hamilton with growth potential and cheap than Atkins who is on the downside and dropping quickly. Hamilton played pretty well so far in camp and preseason.

Atkins would be nothing but a progress stopper. The young ones need reps in practice and the game.

So tell me how long the line was for Carlos Watkins?

Hahaha.

Some of these guys are just so jammed into the collective rear ends of the franchise that to them it's impossible to think that a potential help isn't actually on this roster. So how dare you suggest that maybe they kick the tires on a guy like Atkins. That's just flat out insulting to studs like Carlos Watkins and Justin Hamilton.

Urban and Watkins are CHEAP and not here taking up starting spots. They are here as backups to help the rookies learn and with the playing rotation.

Those other scrubs the Cowboys overpaid and wasted roster spots on last year was a total joke and epic failure. So looks like the Cowboys have learned their lesson, thus refusing to even bring in Geno Atkins for at least an interview. Good for the Cowboys. Sucks to be you. Haha...

The crazy part is that he played well in 2019. 2020 he was injured, yes, I get that is not ideal, but the IDLs are so vital to this scheme working that you want to do everything you can to ensure success there.

Yeah, according to your crystal ball, some 33 year old guy is going to come in the last two weeks of camp and be better than the younger guy who has been here the whole time.

And there it is.......... "progress stopper". The battle cry of the Cowboys homers where they believe everyone one on the roster is a good player in waiting that can only be derailed if there is a veteran player brought in from the outside in front of him.

If you'd rather have Justin Hamilton than Geno Atkins, LOL.

Hahaha. Yeah it was smart bringing in Watkins and Urban to be backups..........on a team that lacks high quality starting DTs.
