It pains and disgusts me to say that - but they are and they are better than last season.
Can we beat them? - I'm not sure now after that choke in the playoffs - I'm really not.
The G-Men have it all - top notch coaching - Coughlin>Phillips everyday of the week , the only spot we have them is Houck over Flaherty , but Flaherty is no slouch.
Eli is no longer a joke, he's Top 5-7 in the NFL and is every bit as good as Romo or Rothlisberger.
The Giants 3 pronged running attack and Big WR Corps is as deadly a weapon package as you'll find and when Eli gets time, his deep ball is almost always on.
Lastly they have the best OL in the NFL and IMO their secondary is as deep as any.

We have our hands full.

How do you put someone on ignore?

Excuses. We still lost. Look at the entire picture.

yeah, they're excuses, but so what. We didn't execute on both offense and defense and it cost us the game. But we were in that game that could have gone either way. But I'm over it. Time for you to do the same. No need to keep reliving that past. What they did last season is done. Has no baring for 2008-2009.

Yo, JonnyMac...you're not related to, uh, Cowboysrock are you? Maybe a brother or cousin, maybe his bro?

By the way, where did that Cowboysrock guy go? Did he disappear after the Commanders lost their first game? I can't find hide nor hair of him or his posts!

Anyway, yeah...the G-aint's are going to SHOCK THE WORLD...AGAIN!!

Ridiclous....

I don't think im talking up the giants.

Im just trying to give some of you reality.

We aren't invincible and we havn't won a playoff game in 12 years.

People on this board were talking all kinds of mess about the giants.

Then boom they win the Super Bowl.
That's your problem .. you are assuming that everyone who is chastising anyone who claims "the Giants are the best team in football" is someone who either thinks the Cowboys are the best team or they're going to the Super Bowl.

If you go back and read, most of the people, like me, that think anyone labeling the Giants the best team in the NFL is clueless, never said the Cowboys were the best nor that they were going to the Super Bowl.

The Cowboys beat an over-hyped under-achieving Browns team .. means nothing other than a win.

The Eagles beat a HORRIBLE Rams team .. means nothing other than a win.

The Giants struggled at home against a bad Commanders team and beat a HORRIBLE Rams team .. means nothing other than two wins.

There are no "best teams in the NFL" after two games .. you might be able to pick one after about 10 games maybe.

Forgive me if I'm not going to sit by and listen to a Cowboys fan from New Jersey (JohnnyMac) proclaim the season over because the Giants barely beat an average team and blew out the worst team in the NFL.

-Reality sucks, I know ...

The Giants are a very good team, but are they the best team at this stage of the season?
Agreed.
And how exactly did Tony Romo's vacation to Mexico last season cause the team's exit from the playoffs last season? I'm assuming that's what you're referring to.

Been a fan since 1974

How? he was terrible - he took bad sacks and held the ball too long, and he missed open WR's all day long.
Now Pat Crayton was as much to blame as anyone but Romo and Witten and our 13 Pro Bowlers got stuffed in our building - with a chance to win a ring at stake.

In what way, shape or form is labeling the defending SUPERBOWL Champs as STILL the best - "clueless"
"Clue" us all in on that ? what have the Giants done since February to change their #1 Level?

Who won the SB before the Giants won last year? Did they win again the following year? NO...they did not, so, they were not the best.

Try living in the present, not the past or the future...it's a new season.

What have the Giants done THIS season that is so different from any other good team out there? Clue us all in on how their first two wins of THIS season makes them the best team in the league? Because of what they did last year? That logic is flawed.

It's what they haven't done - they haven't lost. Eli hasn't regressed or imploded - he's gotten better. They are a young team with a rising SuperStar in Justin Tuck and the best Big target in the NFL in Burress.

NO Super Bowl hangover at all.

I hope we revisit this thread and they are 9-7 and you laugh at me, I really do.

You can call the Giants the top dog all you want. I am fine with that. But asking "Can we beat them?" is just silly.

The best big target in the NFL resides in Dallas. Now, nobody in here is denying that they have good players. We are however going to deny that they are the best team in the NFL TWO games into the season. No team is the best in week 2. None.

Your age. Hint, hint. Your age. That's what you referred to earlier when you stated, "
I've been a Cowboys fan longer than most have been alive."

Your answer just now states the year when you began watching games. If true, you beat me watching Cowboy games by two years, but I was alive for nine years prior to that year.

Hint, hint.

Romo did not lose that game. You, as well as others, overlook a crucial 42 second drive during the closing seconds of the first half of that game AND the player who was primarily responsible for allowing the Giants to drive and score before halftime.

Hint. He's no longer on this team and plays for the Texans.

When did beating the crappy St. Louis Rams become the bench mark for how great a team is? First the Eagles love fest and now the Giants.

Do you guys realize we beat them 35-7 last year?

The Rams are lousy...period.

yeah - you're right there , we can beat them because we did it twice last season BUT my point is , can we recover from a devastating choke like that?

None of which has ANY bearings on who the best team is THIS year. That was a different unit that played and won the Superbowl. We will not see that team take the field again. Ever.

Sure, they will be the reigning Superbowl camps until someone else wins it, but that does not mean that they are still the best team. As Adam Jones would say, "period point blank."
