So I guess the Eagles are pretenders also since they play an identical schedule???

I dont know if you have been keeping up with current events, but there is this thing called "Common Opponents" where division teams play basically identical schedules.

The Eagles, Giants, and Skins all play the same vanialla schedule we do using your logic. How come the Eagles are legit and we are not when we each have the same freaking schedule???

Lets go outside the division, the Mighty New England Patriots have terrorized the league this year with ZERO wins against teams above .500. So how come you are not claiming that the Pats 7-3 record is a product of a vanialla schedule???

The mighty Saints that are trying to go undefeated that you think are going to destroy us..............2 wins against teams over .500.

Note: Dallas has 2 wins against teams over .500 as well.

See this is the flaw in your logic, you say we have padded our record by beating scrub teams with a vanailla schedule, but you fail to explain how these other "contenders" are legit when they have hardly any wins over teams above .500 as well??? We have beat up on patsies and are frauds according to you, but the Saints are the greatest thing since sliced bread even though they have the exact same # of wins that we do against teams over .500

How do you explain this apparent contradiction in your logic???

Very well done. If you listen to some poster you would think Dallas is the only team out there to play bad teams. Saints have had their share of weak teams including a Rams team that took them down the last play of the game.

To be fair, the Eagles and Giants have already been destroyed by the Saints and Chargers (ok, the Chargers didn't destroy the Giants, but the point remains). We still have to play both those teams. So the forward schedules are far from 'identical'. Of course, the Raiders beat the Eagles and the Giants lost to their NFCW opponent, so we have a step up on them there.

Not that Cowherd's comments make any sense.

Colon Coward was bashing Romo a few weeks ago and then one of the other BSPN guys came in and just burned down Coward. I think it might of been Dilfer.

Anyway, whoever it was, started winging out stats on Romo and facts about what has really broken down on Dallas' team (mostly not to do with Romo) when they lost in December and the playoff game against NY.

He basically reduced Coward to stuttering and stammering. It was great.

If you are going to listen to Colon Coward you have to accept that he is basically the sports equivalent of the right-wing nut job radio guys. They are all in it to tick off people by saying outrageous things to drive their ratings.

It was in the 60s yesterday
Maybe you are referring to Texas? It was "warm" in Buffalo yesterday with a mean temperature of 41 degrees. The peak was 51--which is 18 degrees higher than the average of 33 degrees on that day. I don't know why I responding...I know that you understand what my point was. And yes, saying it was cold in late Sept. was having fun with thier weather and not really that serious.

Of course the remaining 5 games are not the same, the issue is that we all play an identical schedule FOR THE SEASON.

Now some played the Saints early and some play the Saints late. Some play the Chargers early and some play the Chargers late. The fact still remains that all 4 division teams play an identical schedule.

Thats the point I am making. The other poster said we were just beating up on patsies to pad our 8-3 record. Well the Eagles, Giants, and Skins are play the same opponents. It is not like we are playing Div 3 scrubs every week and our division opponents are playing top 25 teams. We all play the same schedule so we all have an equal shot to win the division.

I dont understand what is so hard about this that people cant understand.

I'm sure if we go out and beat the Saints they will be considered over rated. :lmao:

Wade Phillips record in December and January as a HC: 16 - 24

Wade Phillips record in the postseason as a HC: 0 - 4

Wade has had one winning December in 9 years as a HC.

4 times he has carried a division lead into December, and 3 times he lost it

That sucks.

I must be the only one that can see this post.

Collin Cowherd typically doesn't like our team because of Wade Phillips. He thinks teams with Head Coaches like Bill Parcells, Tom Coughlin and Mike Tomlin are the ones that will truly be successful.

I know he isn't a Tony Romo hater because he constantly says that if Tony Romo and Ben Rothleisbuger were to switch places, people would be saying Ben Rothleisburger was a bum and Tony Romo was a great Quarterback. He believes that the Head Coach and the lack of structure will ultimately be this team's achilles heal.

At this point, even though we are 8-3, I just cannot blame anyone who says they don't buy into the Dallas Cowboys right now.

Like I said last December, let's just take it one game at a time and if the media is correct about the Cowboys not being good, it will ultimately be proven.

Man, I knew about the 0-4 in the Playoffs but those other statistics are just plain scary.

It was T.Dilfer, its on espn podcast, Cowherd was destroyed by his own fellow employee.

Heard it through a friend...Colin Cowherd said that he isn't buying "Romo & Cowboys Stock" because he isn't an "emotional investor." Says that Romo pads his stats against bad teams and that Wade Phillips is incapable of preparing our team to play on the road in cold weather in December...says that the Cowboys will fold and won't make the playoffs.

He also said earlier in the year that the Green Bay Packers would beat the Minnesota Vikings "handily" at Lambeau Field. Final Score: 38-26 Vikings. Oops.

Cassy, why do you repeat this drivel?
What is your churlish motivation?
Drivel, except for the Wade part.

You are aghast at his prediction and should've blown it off. Instead you run screaming about this.
Why, Cassy?

Because Cowherd and I share a first name. I feel compelled to listen to him in order to see how terrible he is on some of his segments.

Cowherd tried to get Drew Brees to say anything derogatory about Romo's work ethic/dedication once and Drew put him in his place too...

Actually, the Cowboys played pretty well in cold weather in Pittsburgh and NY. Cold weather has nothing to do with anything.

I tend to agree as far as Romo padding his stats against bad teams, actually. So far this years his NUMBERS have been pretty pedestrian against tougher competition with the exception of possibly Atlanta.
Don't forget the 300yd passing game at Philly.

that sounds about right.

This from the guy who believed we wouldn't win more than 6 games this season, and didn't have the testicular fortitude to man up on the wager. :lmao2:

Nobody wants to acknowledge the truth

That we were failing in December since 1997 or that you and you alone have the misery of "realism" cornered so well that the rest of us aren't privy to it?

Here's a small hint. Nobody respects the opinion of the self-labeled realists. Just saying. Negativity thrives alone, by itself, by feeding on itself while others ignore it to objectively discuss both the positives and negatives of the situation.

I don't care if you respect me or not. The stats support my position, and nobody can refute that.
