Ramsey's a DB so he doesn't have a DL mentality but he should have 100% been going for the ball instead of the big hit. Just like Heath in the Green Bay playoff game. Little head's up things that can make the difference between a win and a loss and I think it did in both cases.

Ugh. Way to remind me of this. I am still trying to figure out how Rodgers held onto the ball lol.

Pollard has had a couple of misses in pass protection, but it's been overblown.

Zeke has had misses as well, Pollard's have just happened to result in more visible negative play (i.e. a sack i/o an incomplete pass).

Not saying that Pollard is on Zeke's level in blocking, but he's not a terrible as people make him out to be.

Ok guys.

I have gone back and watched this play 100 times now. And one instant truth has hit me. It is unfortunate but unless they put Pollard AND Zeke out there on passing downs Pollard may get whichever QB is starting killed.

He completely missed that blitz and that play right there could have turned the tide of the game had Rush fumbled. Anyone who questions why Zeke is in there pass blocking should literally watch that play. If they still have questions then it is nothing more than an agenda.

What are your thoughts on that play?

Pollard missed it
No two ways

Overblown?
LOL if Rush fumbles the ball and it’s a TO it would have been the game

Wouldn’t mind having them both out there on some 3rd downs. Let the blitz come and slip it right over there head to one of them. Big gainer.

Pollard is a better runner, no question about it. Zeke is a more complete football player. Pollard needs more mastery of football skills. Until he gets better then Zeke is gonna see more playing time.

Make no mistake about it Pollard misses a lot of blocking assignments.

The best thing about Zeke is that Pollard isn't the world's greatest blocker. Way to go Zeke.

You should go back and rewatch Pollards run if you wanna know what a game winning football play looks like.

IIRC, Pollard ran straight up the middle to help block in the center of the line, unnecessarily, and left Ramsey to come free. Am I thinking of the right play, or combining two together? ...Nope, that's the right one.

Do we even have any plays we’re both are in the backfield together like Emmitt and Moose or Newhouse and TD.

That's not really a fair comparison. Both Johnston and Newhouse were primarily fullbacks and lead blockers for Emmitt and Tony, respectively. I agree getting Elliott and Pollard on the field at the same time would be a good thing.

LOL. And if Rush fumbled the ball. That missed block would be what losing football looks like.

Thats the point of the argument. I am not discussing Pollards rushing ability. I already said he is the far more explosive player. But if he whiffs on a blitz and we lose because of it. That isnt winning football. No matter how you try and spin it.

Zeke should have been out there, Pollard is inexpeirienced at blitz pickup, that is why he looked inside, you are taught as a RB inside out, first place is the shortest distance to the QB so A gap then work your way out. But you need to be reading the front as well before the snap for clues.
It depends on what the protection call is. Sometimes the back has the A gap. Sometimes he has the edge. It all depends on the protection called in the play.

That sack showed me how tough Rush is. I thought for sure that ball would end up on the turf…

He missed one against the Viking (by X. Woods) last year also that got Rush killed.
Rush is probably begging KM not to put Pollard in on 3rd down pass plays.

Agree, not for one to block for the other but you can get creative with both of the them in the same backfield.

He did a good job holding on to the ball, though I don't know how much of it was actual effort and how much was momentum and inertia working in his favor. Lol

My thoughts are we are very fortunate Rush held on to the ball. That is the kind of turnover that could have changed the outcome of the game and its inexcusable to not pick that up

He didnt,he was lucky to have fallen on the ball

Greg Olsen said on the broadcast that Pollard should have picked that up. Went as far as saying Zeke would have.

What does he know.
