Ramsey's a DB so he doesn't have a DL mentality but he should have 100% been going for the ball instead of the big hit which did make Rush fumble. Just like Heath in the Green Bay playoff game. Little head's up things that can make the difference between a win and a loss and I think it did in both cases.

The Heath play still burns. All Heath had to do was rake his right arm down Rodgers’ and the ball comes out. But, it was surprising Rodgers didn’t cough it up anyway. Same on the Ramsey play.

The best thing about Zeke is that Pollard isn't the world's greatest blocker. Way to go Zeke.

You should go back and rewatch Pollards run if you wanna know what a game winning football play looks like.
Zeke doesn’t score on Pollard’s play. But both are valuable pieces of this team. It’s a less filling, tastes great debate. The Giants won Super Bowls with complimentary backs.

Greg Olsen said on the broadcast that Pollard should have picked that up. Went as far as saying Zeke would have.

What does he know.
Yeah, I don't care what the "protection" is supposed to be, you don't help out guys who don't need help and leave a free rusher (especially Ramsey) untouched.

But he didn't miss or get beat, he just went the wrong way completely. I still like him, just not as a blocker.

Shouldn't have Rush set protection on Ramsey as well? Typically QB IDs & calls out a safely blitz pre-snap.

Maybe he should have, maybe he was fooled too. That wouldn't absolve Zeke of any blame.

No, I agree. Tackle and Guard were engaged, so Pollard has to scan the outside. It's his responsibility even if QB does not ID it pre-snap.

It was a good play by Ramsey to disguise and come with speed.

It depends on what the protection call is. Sometimes the back has the A gap. Sometimes he has the edge. It all depends on the protection called in the play.
Yes but if nothing specific is called they are to look inside and also be on the look out, honestly on that play pollard should have looked outside since the line protection covered everything but he ducked inside to provide help.

Ok guys.

I have gone back and watched this play 100 times now. And one instant truth has hit me. It is unfortunate but unless they put Pollard AND Zeke out there on passing downs Pollard may get whichever QB is starting killed.

He completely missed that blitz and that play right there could have turned the tide of the game had Rush fumbled. Anyone who questions why Zeke is in there pass blocking should literally watch that play. If they still have questions then it is nothing more than an agenda.

What are your thoughts on that play?
Man zeke haters and Pollard lovers won't care if Pollard misses blitz pick ups ALOT lol.

Perfectly timed blitz. Sometimes it just happens

True , but it was a complete miss by QB and whole offense , looked like they didnt expect Ramsey to blitz, still we should have some one to take care of those.

I'm over the Elliott vs Pollard argument. Zeke is a better blocker, clearly. But at this point, maybe we should push back on why it's even a significant topic. Is the O line that bad they need everyone to pick up defenders?
Or is it like most teams where running is there job?

Cool. Zeke is still an average runner now and doesn't justify his contract.

Yes, Pollard is a weak pass blocker - if Zeke would live up to his contract, he also wouldn't be taken off the field. It goes both ways. Neither are all-around great backs, they're role players.
