Ok guys.

I have gone back and watched this play 100 times now. And one instant truth has hit me. It is unfortunate but unless they put Pollard AND Zeke out there on passing downs Pollard may get whichever QB is starting killed.

He completely missed that blitz and that play right there could have turned the tide of the game had Rush fumbled. Anyone who questions why Zeke is in there pass blocking should literally watch that play. If they still have questions then it is nothing more than an agenda.

What are your thoughts on that play?

Zeke has missed those before as well. That was a missed blitz pickup by Pollard no doubt. Not an easy one. Other than that one play his blocking was good all night.

I think people question why Zeke is pass blocking, its why is he getting the bulk of the runs.

For everyone who wonders why Pollard isn't on the field more, that play tells you why.

He can't be trusted in pass protection

total nonsense. This has happened to Zeke as well. Pollard was blocking great all game save this one play. And if you watch it, its slightly delayed and he simply doesnt see him

I think this is something Pollard will have to get better at, it is a big reason why Zeke gets majority of snaps. If Pollard was picking up blitzer and producing in the run game he would be seeing majority of snaps.

The notion that Zeke gets more runs because he is the better pass blocker is just plain laughable. They arent related. Give Zeke 3rd down pass blocking assignment all he wants. Nothing to do with running the football.

Perfectly timed blitz. Sometimes it just happens

Pollard has given up 4 total sacks in his entire career in pass blocking. Despite what many Zeke apologists try to pass off as their agenda, Pollard is NOT a liability on pass blocking.

He’s not as good a protector as Zeke but he’s generally not a liability either
Well designed and executed blitz he just missed
It happens

True , but it was a complete miss by QB and whole offense , looked like they didnt expect Ramsey to blitz, still we should have some one to take care of those.
Right, the extra blocker, who in this case happened to be Pollard.

Zeke doesn’t score on Pollard’s play. But both are valuable pieces of this team. It’s a less filling, tastes great debate. The Giants won Super Bowls with complimentary backs.
Not only does he not score, he probably only picks up 7 yards or so

yes Pollard is important but his issues with protection are not overblown, they’re very real and a problem

They are completely overblown. They are NOT a real issue Pollard has given up 4 sacks his entire career. Why dont you do some research? Go back and watch the Rams game and focus on Pollard in his pass blocking. HE does a good job. That was NOT an easy blitz to pick up.

Just dont blindly cherry pick and listen to the masses with an agenda.

Here is cherry picking Zeke getting blown up.

Greg Olsen said on the broadcast that Pollard should have picked that up. Went as far as saying Zeke would have.

What does he know.
Greg Olsen can be and has been wrong before. He doesn't know the call, and on top of that even if he did know the verbiage I've seen where he was wrong before. He heard a call, said what it meant and was wrong. Offensive systems have different languages. Again he "could" be right. But my point is still the same, within the playcall a RB protection can differ.

Yes but if nothing specific is called they are to look inside and also be on the look out, honestly on that play pollard should have looked outside since the line protection covered everything but he ducked inside to provide help.
Right!!! "If" nothing specific is called. With that said, I do feel that pollard isn't a great blocker. Aside from the questions are his assignment blocking, I've also seen him get ran over and not fully commit to block. Zeke while also being bigger squares his guy up.

My thoughts are we are very fortunate Rush held on to the ball. That is the kind of turnover that could have changed the outcome of the game and its inexcusable to not pick that up

This is not just Pollard's fault. Rush didn't see it coming and neither did the Cowboys receivers. If Rush had seen it coming and Gallup as well, Gallup could have run to the area vacated by Ramsey and been all alone for a big gain.

Look, this will be ignored.

At least Pollard simply didn’t see the CB blitz coming. Zeke got murdered on that play.
