I'm not trying to be mean but he has no place in this league.
This idea of getting aged re-treads as backup QB's has to stop. Sure, a rookie, high draft pick might throw 3 picks and lose a game like yesterday, but at least he would have potential upside. He may get better. At least there would still be some hope for the future.
Since when has Weeden put up 4 TDs with us? Please this guy can't read a defense he rifles a 5 yard pass he completed 80% of his passes to RB. You sir are delusional if you think an 0-12 Weeden wins that game yesterday. That would've staked the box 8-9 because they know Weeden is worthless
I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm just tired of lumps. 3 turnover games win less often than games where you can't convert. If we don't take the ball away and play better football around these backups, it just doesn't matter. Pick 6's get you beat more often than not in the NFL. Same with ST scores. We shouldn't be giving either of these backup QBs a pass, but at the same time, good teams play better around their liabilities than we're playing right now. If Tony gets the same level of support when he's back, we'll be back to .500 football, no better.
No disrespect toward Tony Romo, but no way he would've beat the Patriots either.
TWill was most definitely standing still...which was the problem lol.
But still, the most devastating INT was a intermediate route, so I dont think limiting to that is the ultimate key to success.
Weeden worthless? The 91-yard drive against New Orleans was a thing of beauty. His 98-yard touchdown pass to Josh Gordon in Cleveland was phenomenal. The Cowboys have no speed at the receiver position. Weeden can easily hit a receiver 60 yards downfield in stride, but the Cowboys have no one who can outrun a defensive back. The Giants should've intercepted Cassel 5 times, but dropped two of them.
No disrespect toward Tony Romo, but no way he would've beat the Patriots either.
i find that hard to believe. Byron held one of their best. Do tell how you come to that conclusion?
Really? You have a crystal ball? Down what 3 at the half with a guy who couldn't buy a 3rd down conversion. Sorry This team would've been in the game in the 2nd half if they were able to convert 3rds and Romo has been great career wise at that. But I can't believe you're trashing Romo for to support your love fest for Weeden.. Now I think you're trolling
He unfortunately did more to set us back in 3 games than Cassel did yesterday. We should have shoved Cassel in sooner and just taken our lumps. He would have had an earlier start on self critique of game film and been better prepared yesterday. Oh well... Rue rue rue.
Cassel will give us an even better chance this weekend after having a full game of film to study and understand the nuances of where his plays could have been more successful. I think people sometimes underestimate the value of being able to sit down with a coach and go over game film of yourself. Not some other QB... You!
& the legend will live on in relative obscurity...
I said that Cassel should have played in the NE game anyways. Let's be honest here, that game was going to be a loss. Why not let Cassel get some playing time?
There is another legend of Weeden, a black legend, that he alone is responsible for the team's woeful performance.
