This site claims that, in this scenario, Cousins would go to the 49ers, Romo would go to the Commanders, and Dallas would get draft picks.

Not sure of their track record.

That's not going to happen.

Commanders get hosed and we make out like bandits.

Only way it seems feasible is if Washington gets 49ers picks, and Dallas gets picks from Washington.

I imagine Washington wouldn't let Cousins go unless they have a legit QB to take his place.

Trading with a division rival wouldnt be unprecedented. Eagles and Cowboys made a dangerous trade with each other in the 2007 draft that allowed us to move up for our pass rusher and allowed them to move down and not overdraft there QB of the future. Inconsequential in the long, but very risky for both teams as they were vying for position in the NFC East at the time

The part about Cousins to SF makes sense. A 2nd franchise tag often ticks off the player enough to signal the end. In other words, real chance they lose Cousins after this year (and paying him 25+ mil rhis year).

SF has Shanny Jr, so it makes sense there too. Then they can keep that high draft pick (or accumulate multiple picks with it) and not worry about a QB.

Even the part about the Skins wanting Romo for a couple of years (at much less than what Cousins would make) makes sense, except that....
I can't see Dallas doing it.

I definitely do not want Romo in Washington. I'd like to pull for the guy on his new team, but that would make it very hard:mad:
From his pov, Houston would be better.

Not than uncommon to trade in the division.
In 2010, McNabb was traded by the Eagles to the Commanders for draft picks - I believe a 2nd round pick in the 2010, and a conditional 3rd or 4th round pick in the 2011 draft.

Get it done, Jerry.

The good side is that Romo in Washington may not overall be better than Dallas. Washington's running game is not great and 2 of their top 3 WRs may be gone.
While Romo in either Denver, and especially Houston...very well could be formidable.

Here is my proposal.

Washington gets Romo, SF's 2017 #1, SF's 2018 #2.

SF gets Cousins

We get Washington 2017 #1
