Jerry ultimately has control over this situation. No one else.

Romo can express a preference. Jerry can and probably will consider it. Let's say that Denver wants a Romo but won't pay consideration but Romo wants to go to Denver,
Manning had a championship before he arrived in Denver so they knew their chances of winning a championship with him were pretty good. Romo may be a better QB than what Denver currently has at QB and would give them their best shot but he's not Peyton Manning, not even close. Elway talked about what a move for Romo could mean down the road. Those close to the Broncos situation believe signing Romo will likely cost Denver Trevor Siemian who showed potential last season. It's going to be hard keeping both of their young QBs that Elway said they like if they sign Romo. If they sign Romo and have to part ways with Siemian and Romo gets injured again and Siemian goes off and develops into a solid NFL QB, Denver is going to have a lot of regrets.

Denver won 8 games with Siemian whose numbers weren't that bad in his first starting experience. He put up 368 yards and 3 TD's with a passer rating of 125.6 on KC this past season. He put up 334 yards on Tenn and a TD so he has some real potential. If they're able to hang onto Seimian, Romo would be a progress stopper for both young QBs. These are things the Broncos are going to have to consider.

That's disengenuine. Either they want Romo or they don't. If they want Romo they will pay for him (including draft compensation) or they wont. Simien isn't the future there. If he was they wouldn't have drafted Lynch in the first round.

What are they going to say? We are willing to pay out the ***. Jerry please rape us? Get real.

If Romo gets cut teams will be beating his door down. Book that. They are playing chicken with us expecting us to blink first. We just need to be patient and wait this out.

Cowboys did right by Romo already. They paid him a crud ton of money. They don't owe him anything else IMO. They can make a fair attempt to move him to a team that he would like to play for but in the end, the allegiances of the front office should be to the current team not to making Romo happy.

I am sure this is the thought process of all involved.

They wanted Kaepernick last year but when they couldn't get him for what they wanted, they backed out completely.
Elway is not one to accept ultimatums.

There are other factors that come into play besides money. But we will have to disagree on this issue. I respect your opinion but have a different view on the situation

Lynch appeared to be a much better prospect than Siemian which is why Denver gave up 3 picks including a #1 for him but Siemian ended up beating Lynch out. Siemian didn't take a snap his rookie year due to Manning and Osweiler being ahead of him. Siemain showed some potential last season and to have to move on from him to make room for Romo could prove to be a huge mistake down the road. They obviously aren't going to move on from Lynch due to what they gave up for him so Denver is going to have to make a decision. If Denver wants Romo they'll get him once he's released because they give Romo his best chance of success. Manning chose Denver and Romo likely will too if they want him.

More teams will be interested in Romo if he's a free agent but Denver and Houston will have to inside track. There might not be a team out there willing to give up a significant draft pick for Romo but would welcome him as a free agent. We can wait it out for awhile but at some point a decision has to be made if it's going to benefit Romo and Jerry said whatever is done has to benefit both the team AND Tony. He needs to be part of a team as soon as possible so he's prepared properly to play in 2017. He's going to have to learn a new offense and can't afford to miss too much offseason work with his new team. He has to work off some rust and start to fit in with his new team so the sooner a decision is made the better for him.

I am curious about what these other factors are? How shouldn't the front office put the priorities of the team above that of any individual player?

By letting DEN keep #20 so they can draft OJ Howard instead of us so Romo will have TE to throw to
