This is the one single mega thread for the Fan Zone where you can bash Jerry Jones, Jason Garrett, Rod Marinelli and any other coach or front office position you want.

All threads and posts made outside this thread will be deleted.

Pretty tough to discuss other subjects on other threads without the entire coaching staff and mgmt being brought up but ok

There's a fairly obvious difference between 'bashing' and 'discussing.' If you're not sure, it's probably a sentiment best suited for one of the rant threads, just to be safe.

Nobody wants a forum where every topic is a mutation of the same basic premise. Which is what you get if you let it happen.

Change is needed in this team in a big bad way. Garrett would be a good coach if he has the ability to make the proper changes to win games. Thats the problem here. If we want immediate change without having to dump Garrett then its all up to him. He should dump the playbook. Get rid of it and go with what got us in the playoffs lastyear.

Don't they have a copy of Callahan's playbook lying around? I frankly, think that we messed up by not resigning Callahan. I also think this started when they let Murray leave so easily. Last years team was a close knit group and felt like it was family. We are no longer that team and it started for letting Murray leave so easily and everything went downhill from then on.

Thus this is the fault of the FO. It could have been avoided if they just took the necessary steps to keep this team intact. But they didn't. Thus the team is unraveling before our eyes.

But seriously, what happens if/when Romo returns, wins us most of our remaining games, and we finish 8-8 or 7-9. Will Garrett still be bashed or revered for his turnaround of the season? It's hard to complain when we're winning.

EDIT*: I'm not a Garrett supporter, FWIW. I've never been a big fan and I don't think he's the right coach for this team. But I understand that most great coaches won't come here because of Jerry, and that Garrett is the perfect smiley-faced puppet for him.

I just don't see how he's not back next season after we inevitably win most of our remaining games on our easy schedule now that Romo is returning to the helm. How do you fire a coach who just won 6 of his last 7 games?

It's hard to forget going 0-7. We already know what Garrett brings to the table, he's had long enough to show what he's capable of. Romo winning out would look worse in the fact that this staff/team wasn't able to scrap together 1-2 wins while he was out.

He's coming back next year for two reasons:

1) It's too difficult to change coaches and offensive system at this point in Romo's career. The only coach who could conceivably get around the Romo factor is Sean Payton.

2) He just signed a big contract.

Seriously. There should be a box you have to check when you sign up here that acknowledges that you realize that Garrett just signed a 5 year contract. Even the most disastrous scenario for Garrett would get him 2 years of that deal, and even then I can't remember a coach getting fired with 3 years left.
Garrett has a whopping four seasons and 7 games left on his no doubt lucrative contract. People are really embarrassing themselves even bringing up the possibility that he could get fired.

That's why this is the bashing thread and not the logical thought process thread!

It's not about what will be done, it's about what should be done. So just leave logical at the door and bash away, just like a candy filled pinata.
