The more I watch Odell, the more I get ticked off about Dez

Dez' x celebration is the problem? I mean throwing up a letter of the alphabet? ODB wouldn't be caught dead doing childish stuff like that.

I admit I'm being picky there but I always thought that celebration was forced on him by some advisor. It never looks natural to him.

I for one envy how Atlanta uses Julio Jones. They move him around in the slot and they use those crossing patterns to free him up. They draw up plans on the sidelines based on what the defense is showing and its hardly the same gameplan. Just like the Partriots. Every game is a different game plan.

It just baffles me on why we can't do the same with Bryant and some of our other weapons on offense. Is Garrett that clueless to draw a play or two based on what he sees on the field? I've never seen him do it.

Dez is starting to get really annoying. Every catch he makes(or even non catch) is **** you defender trying to cover me or **** you QB for not throwing it to my COVERED ***. Its getting old fast.

This kid has snatched Dez's spot as the next goat receiver.

His grace catching balls millimeters from the sideline only magnifies Dez's overall sloppiness.

I love Dez but either Roc Nation or something else has ruined him.

This offseason, he needs to go back to Lufkin and humble himself. Get rid of the silly X celebration, get in tip top condition and come back hungrier than ever. He's lost some of his quick twitch ability IMO. Watch the all-22, he's not running hard on all of his routes...not even 75%.

The way the NFL is making ODB the face of the league has to motivate Dez this offseason!

How could Roc Nation have ruined him? The connection with Jay Z you mean, well he has proven to be the consummate business man and has never been a negative influence on the other clients of the agency so why would it have to be Roc Nation. Matter of fact how much actual day to day dealings does he have with the clients other than being an owner of the company? Would being with a different agency affect his play to the better and please explain why that would be so.

OBJ plays in a market where he is likely to get slobbered over by the media. I have questions about his longevity but he comes up big in national TV games.

Perhaps, but to be fair, when you have 176 receptions, 2600 yards and 24 TD's in 25 career games, you'll probably get slobbered over by the media wherever you play.

Difference between Dez, JJ and odell is they get fed the ball unlike dez.

Last 5 games Dez has 42 tgts, JJ jas 66 tgts and odell has 67 tgts.

Last year Dez had 138 tgts, JJ had 164 tgts in 15 games and Odell had 132 tgts in 12 games.

Literally don't understand why anyone would complain about Dez this season when he came back after breaking his foot and is still playing thru pain which he talked about earlier this week . They should've put Dez on IR the second time Romo broke his bone to let him fully heal since you just signed him to a huge deal... You'd think they would have heard about Durant's same injury http://www.sbnation.com/nba/2015/8/14/9154341/kevin-durant-suffered-second-fracture-last-season

I love dez.....but I would rather have ODB or even Antonio Brown. When their QB needs them to make a catch.....they catch the ball!....and they've got that killer speed that scares defenses.

I think Dez works harder/more effectively with TR leading the team. You can tell Dez admires/believes in TR, and with the lack of that stability, we've seen him come off the hinges a bit in both attitude & focus. I think Dez would clean up on some of the smaller aspects you're speaking of in terms of route running/playing with focus (routine catches).

That doesn't excuse Dez, but I have no doubt he wants to win but feels the pressure/uphill battle heading his way as the team's new offensive leader with no coaching (scheme/innovation) and the lack of adequate QB to take the team anywhere in the near future.

Dez is a great talent but the last year and half or so he has frustrated me. It's like a game of almost. Almost made the catch, was almost inbounds, almost scored. I don't get it. What really frustrated me yesterday was the one play where he jumped to get the pass when it didn't need a jump. Was he trying to make it look fancy? I don't know. How about improving your route tree, catching the ball and keeping the sideline outbursts both good and bad to a minimum and do your job. I know he has come a long way since being drafted but he could improve so much more. So frustrating.

Holdout missing whole offseason, missed time in camp, the injury, nothing to play for in comparison to OBJ. That's what's wrong with Dez this year. Don't doubt Dez.

that is all a factor, but you forget he is getting paid 13 mil this year, which is 10 times what he made last year, and his production has gone down
to almost nothing.
He has hurt the team more than helped.

Dez is playing like he got a paycut not a x 10 pay raise.

Hopefully he is better next year.

Look at the route tree Dez runs compared to Odell. There's a bit more creativity with the Giants, matter of fact on the 84 yard TD to Odell the OC must've known that the Dolphins Safety plays aggressive and the double move worked. Do we have that same creativity in our offense? Don't think so!

This sums it up. Our coaching staff is so inept it isn't funny. They have no idea how to get their playmaker involved. Dez is able to be taken out of so many games. Yes we know he's being doubled. But so is every top WR. Odell is bracketed quite often and he still makes plays. They find him.

Also, O'Dell is much more explosive as a down the field threat. Dez's strength is when you get closer to the endzone. I just wish we had a threat to get us down there.

Look at Harris. He's doing the same things Beasley is doing and is more explosive. And he can play special teams. But we didn't have a staff that would even really explore what he could do as a WR. They are so stuck in their ways and never innovate or change things up.

Missed time in camp, got hurt, lost his QB, possibly playing at less than 100% because he came back from the injury so quickly... no doubt in my mind that he can get back to being himself if him and Romo get healthy and each have a good offseason.

Dez is alright but there's a lot lacking in his game. I wonder what he'll be like when he's older and loses a lot of the explosiveness/athleticism he has now. Compared to his peers like Antonio Brown, Julio Jones, AJ Green all of those guys have much better route running ability. And the youngers like Odell, Hopkins, and Amari Cooper will continue to improve too.

Here comes the route running ability message board experts again.

Were you here saying this when he had 88 catches for 1300+ yards and 16 touchdowns last year. Or the previous 3 seasons when he had double digit TD catch totals and 1300+ yards each year?

It's funny how fast fans turn on players when the team starts losing.

All the people yelling "it was a catch" a year ago now crying about Dez's poor route running, his salary, and his affection for a monkey.

What qualifies you to know so much about the route running ability of these players you mentioned? And if you possess such expertise why didn't you share this information with Jerry Jones before he opened his checkbook on a WR who is now just "alright"?
