I would. Things are that desperate right now.

Give him a deal where you can cut him with little impact and no uncertain terms that if he screws up even a little, he's gone.

And stick to it.

The team was big on 'second chances' talk last season when they signed him. Back that up by giving him a second chance to fix his behavior. If he doesn't, slam the door and don't look back.

You have to assume that since even the DAllas Cowboys didnt want him back then its gotta be a good reason.

If you choose to assume that, sure. That gives the benefit of the doubt that Dallas' reasons were valid, and I, myself, do not assume that.

Didnt you just tell me in another post that you had changed your way of thinking on this stuff?

Do you think that the signing of Hardy could be the difference between us winning the SB this year?

Public Opinion + Headaches + Monetary cost of the player > the production of the player

I think it is VERY safe to assume that this was pretty much the formula for the decision.

I did. And for the future, after this season, going forward, I absolutely believe that. But we are wher we are. If we hope to do anything while Romo still might be able to, they have to act now.

Sure it could. It's then a debate about percentages of whether or not they could win. Off the street, he's far and away the best pass rusher this team would have and it's not even a question.

Pair him with a Dwight Freeney signing, and maybe you manage to cobble together enough of a pass rush to field a competitive defense. Pair that with what should be a top 5 offense at minimum, and I don't see what they couldn't challenge.

Conversely, put what they have out there? Good luck! Better hope your offense can consistantly score 35 points each and every week at a minimum because you're not stopping anybody.

And each person is free to assume whatever they want to, that comes with not having information.

I'd also add in the factors of a proven meddling owner and a head coach that's shown to go along to get along on plenty of occasions to your equation too if we're being truly honest.

In the future we need to trade all second rounders to move up in the first. We seem to be hitting it out of the park with our firsts (except Mo) and whiffing completely in the second

Well..............I might be tempted if the cost part of the equation went down to a 5 milliion dollar figure or something like that. And Freeney could be had for similar or under. But I wouldnt pay any of those cats 8 million or more type stuff.

Nobody would, and nobody will. Both need jobs this late in the process, and both will work for less than what they've made in the last. Beggars can't be choosers.

Freeney played for less than $1 million last year I believe, and Hardy is in no position to drive a hard bargain with anyone. He's got one foot out the door of the league already and he knows it.

I don't see money as an obstacle to getting either one or both.

I see more of an obsticle in admitting a mistake and doing what needs to be done to fix it.

Lets knock him down to the 6 round. Let him have his fun there where he can't hurt anyone.

They've been letting Spaulding get use to running the family business so he's been drafting the 7th round last two years. Jerry would need to stay at least relevant in regards, so I think they are stuck letting him have the second round.

is the 30 year old Sean Lee, whom we drafted in 2010.

Carter
Escobar
Lawrence
Gregory
Smith

Just an absolute indictment on the ineptitude of this front office.

Be careful there, you'll get told off on how we can do no wrong and you're being short-sighted. Strangely I think the pick in all that that is still most puzzling is the Escobar one, considering we had a young Hanna and of course Witten.

Always hope for the best, but that is a crazy observation.

Could it be that they don't know what they're doing?

Gotta throw Jaylon Smith into the mix as well. He's looking like a 50/50 shot to even get back to a "healthy" status.

If JSmith spends the whole year on the PUP or NFI list, does he accrue a season towards FA?

Since the injury was in college they don't have to put him on the regular IR....getting that year back could be huge and I guess it applies to RGregory as well if he misses more than 10 games
