lol Nah, I'm really hoping they find a way to make Deadpool MCU. That needs no reboot. But what they did with the X-films needs to be fixed. Logan was great, for a sorta alternate universe story. I enjoyed First Class, but again, as sort of an alternate timeline. Days of Future's Past was alright. The first X-Men movies were more Wolverine 1-3, but the first two weren't bad. They could be done a lot better.
I am somewhat in agreement with your assessment of the X-Men movies, as seen in the animated gif I created a while back:
Some people disagree but I think the epic storylines of
Days Of Future's Past,
X:Men Apocalypse and
Dark Phoenix (in particular) could have been done way better on film. Well, scratch DP from the those three. I think the majority of the core audience agrees that was a truly pitiful effort by Fox of one of the most famous storylines in comics history.
I like the characters from New Mutants, but that story seems...not fitting for what they are? Besides, they're just doing it to recoup money since it's getting rebooted anyway. lol
Yeah, the previews are kinda whack in comparison to how the group's original comic was presented initially.
Of course, my interpretation has a huge black hole in it since I got away from their title and comics altogether pretty much just before the turn of the century. There have been a number of title re-imaginations since my full-time collector days.
Guardians Of The Galaxy was a huge redo from they used to be, for example. I do know Moonstar and Company was re-done also. Maybe, the movie is more representative of who the group is now than what I remember. Honesty, I do not have a clue.
I also agree Marvel is only seeking to squeeze any profit return from Fox's creation. It has been in delay for too long, having been kicked down the road like a tin can in favor of Marvel's mainstream MCU. That said, I am still hoping TNM does not disappoint me like last
Fantastic Four movie. That was... bad.
