Again, you raise interesting concepts.

That said, I wasn't suggesting he would've raised him as an apprentice, or even raised him personally. It seems likely to me that he would've had him raised by someone under his thumb, until he was old enough to become his apprentice.

As for why he saved him, I think he did that simply because he knew Vader would still become the most powerful apprentice possible. I don't think it was genuine compassion.

I do think Palpatine manipulated the dreams about Padme, but not the ones about his mother. Also, I don't think he hired them to take her, as they don't seem like the mercenary types. I could be wrong, but I thought they had a reputation for doing exactly the type of thing they did to her. I thought that's what her husband was saying.

I see Vader as unfulfilled potential. After his defeat, and losing most all of his limbs, I don't think he ever became what they always talked about him becoming.

BTW, I don't think what you're suggesting is part of the story, but I think it should've been!

edit - yes I just tagged you all because that’s how I roll

That looks intense. Just judging by the trailer it seems more artfully done than most thrillers are these days, eliciting fear through suspense, rather than just sudden loud noises and images.........and Keri Russell looks pretty good too.

Jessie Plemmons is a good actor too, and I’ll watch anything Del Toro is involved in.

But with that trailer, if it’s not a wendigo, I will be disappointed.

I didn't think wendigos were that big, but then, they're not something you see often. I think the best story of one I've seen was in Supernatural.

I am a Graham Greene fan...

...so those three seconds were enough to put it on my possible watchlist. :muttley:The trailer looks really good and has a strong mysterious underlying theme. I am also a horror fan and very picky about the genre. It looks like it may be leaning more towards suspense/thriller than horror. I hope so. At first glance I think I will like it more going into it if its the former than the latter.

Cannonball
Sunspot
Wolfsbane (How much will they let Arya Stark cut loose? Stay tuned. )
Majik

The latest trailer makes the characters and the movie 'seem' a bit better than the previous ones but I am still getting a bad vibe. Even so, I am interested in seeing what they do with Danielle Moonstar. She was a character who was under appreciated back when I read comics full-time but I liked her a lot.

The other character drawing my interest is Dr. Reyes, who is being played by Alice Braga. The producers have her physician persona from the comics correct but she is also a good guy and mutant in the books. This Dr. Reyes appears to be both a normal human and a central antagonist in this story.

Whatever. I will give the movie a shot anyway.

Not I. It's set in a dead cinematic universe. Viva la reboot!
